The FA CUP Fourth Round 27/28/29 January *** Spoilers ****

Daily Fail at it's best that link, the 3-0 game by the way Vidic didn't even receive a caution so not sure how they've come to the conclusion that he should have been sent off. From the best I can see the games Vidic has come up against Torres;

Liverpool 0-1 Man Utd
Man Utd 3-0 Liverpool
Man Utd 1-4 Liverpool (Torres scores and Vidic gets a red Card for being last man on Gerrard)
Liverpool 2-0 Man Utd (Torres scores and Vidic gets two yellows, one on Torres the other on Kuyt)
Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool (Torres scores, Vidic gets a yellow card for a foul on Torres)
Man Utd 3-2 Liverpool
Chelsea 2-1 Man Utd
Chelsea 0-1 Man Utd
Man Utd 2-1 Chelsea
Man Utd 2-1 Chelsea

So exactly 10 games and Torres has only scored in 3 of them (I particularly liked the fact we played against him 6 times last season alone but Vidic didn't play in one of the games)

In total Torres currently stands at played 12 scored 4 (the other being the game you mentioned earlier this season when again Vidic didn't play)

So from what I can gather he struggled vs Torres when he was at Liverpool on at least half the occasions, also to say a player didn't receive a caution so couldn't possibly have warranted a sending off is a bit funny as we see it most weeks.

In the 3-2 game he was effective, set-up two of our goals by drawing fouls just not against Vidic whilst we were playing under owl face. (I'm still particularly bitter O'Shea wasn't sent off who set up your winner.)

Still struggled against him quite a number of times when Torres wasn't at Chelsea for me (aka playing worse than me.), not a myth just exaggerated as he certainly did struggle.

Sad that i'm defending him :(

Note to Spurs fans: Get used to more of the same from Adebayor, he's done his 6 month impress-the-new-club stint now.

VDV MOTM lol, well to be fair I suppose he did set up half the attacks for the home team...

Fulham were awful :/ could do with a new striker, and possibly in the summer a worthy replacement of Murphy.

Fulham are just still awful away, anyone thinking it was Hodgson was wrong, his away record with WBA is better than his home record, and Fulham's home record is pretty amazing at the moment.

Not really sure why they crumble away from home so badly, I can't remember how long they've been doing it, has it been since they got into the premiership or more recent than that(but still a good few years). It's just a mentality with the Fulham team.

I didn't watch a lot of it, was VDV no where near MOTM then( I already assumed he wasn't)? Hasn't he not scored for ages and, frankly has done the same as Ade, great first half season, trailed off and not turned up this year at all?

Ade also, didn't see him tonight, he's been a bit gash for a while already for Spurs though, 6 months is optimistic, but to be fair while he's been missing the target and not being great he hasn't been punching his team mates, standing almost completely still in a sulk. There is bad form and not trying, not always easy to see which is which, time will tell though.

VDV I think be great long term at all, Snjeider is over rated and was more or less booted from Real because long term at a top club you either need to be scoring at a decent rate or working hard for the team and he wasn't doing either. Same with VDV, for someone who is essentially crap and lazy defensively you have to offer a more consistent goal threat going forward.

Both were seen as bargains but really they weren't far off their real value, just way off their over rated value. Very decent players, above average but I wouldn't build a team around either one at all nor rely on either one.

Basically VDV kept dropping deep (because Spurs couldn't get into the attacking third) and giving the ball away, his sole contribution was a shot that somehow bounced over the keeper's dive. It was voted by fans online and even the co-commentator was taking the **** out of the choice.

As for Adebayor it wasn't that he executed things badly he just stood around hands on hips most of the game making no runs and I can only remember him touching the ball about 3 times (Defoe wasn't any better mind and to be fair there wasn't any service from midfield). It's not an exaggeration to say the camera spent more time looking at him sulking and looking pleadingly towards the bench than it did with him in possession of the ball. The only Spurs players who seemed remotely interested were Walker, Parker, Cudicini, Livermore and Dawson.

yeh it was a crap game, need to step it up on tuesday. adebayor headed straight for the tunnel (though it was an ET sub, wouldn't read too much into it) but he's got to start putting a shift in. VDV can't run, even when he does track back, he can't tackle. should never have started against city and was ineffective, was pretty ineffective again tonight but he scored a crucial goal, has done before and will do again. also pulls off some great passes and is involved a lot in build ups.

modric hasn't really performed well in the past few games either tbh but everyone knows what he is capable of, he just seems to get bullied out of games a bit too easily against some teams and run the show in others. £50m? hmm wouldn't be too gutted if he went for that tbh.

spurs will fall apart if/when redknapp goes unless we get someone like mourinho. losing bale takes a massive part of our game out and he must stay if we are to continue to attack and progress. walker also needs to remember he is primarily a defender, not an attacker. it's good to see him get forward but it's his pace that get's him out of most situations as his defending is suspect a lot of the time.

parker continues to be a revelation for spurs. livermore deserves a 10/10 for effort but he's not first team material, the sooner sandro is fit, the better oh and tom huddlestone, remember him?

Not looking forward to this mornings Pantomime one little bit 'Booo he's behind you' for 90 minutes.

Regardless of the scoreline let's hope that 3.00 today the only thing to talk about is the football at Anfield and nothing else.

I hope that is the case but there will be stupid fans from ourselves and UTD side its set up perfectly for the idiots to come out :(

Anyway im fairly confident of a win IF Fergie is telling the truth about UTD injuries though i suspect he isnt.

He always keeps a few surprises up his sleeve ;)

Apparently Andy Carroll may be starting for us this afternoon...still waiting for the team sheet.

Edit: Team sheet

Reina, Kelly, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Carragher, Henderson, Gerrard, Downing, Maxi, Carroll.
Subs: Doni, Johnson, Coates, Kuyt, Adam, Shelvey, Bellamy.

5-4-1 by the looks of it, Carra's 34th birthday today, guess he couldn't resist playing. I'm also glad chadams has been dropped to the bench.

The Reds team in full is: Reina, Kelly, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Carragher, Henderson, Gerrard, Downing, Maxi, Carroll. Subs: Doni, Johnson, Coates, Kuyt, Adam, Shelvey, Bellamy.

Our Team, Glad that Kelly is finally getting a game, Carra is playing though so UTD will likely get a penalty :(
