The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

See?

Why?

edit: Check out the performance of a single 470 vs a single 7970 (click me). As you can see there's a huge gulf in performance...

The 680 appears to be a fair chunk faster than the 7970 at the heaven benchmark, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the 680 gets a higher score than SLI 470s.

The HKEPC results at 1920X1080 and using 8XAA have a very different spread though.

In the HKEPC preview there is around a 10% difference and the newer results indicate around a 30% difference.

Edit!!

HKEPC were also using the latest drivers too.

... At a different resolution, using different AA settings.

It is to be expected that the gap will close somewhat as the resolution increases - due to higher memory bandwidth on the 7970.

Now thats where I was expecting mine to be. :(

Maybe I had to restart my pc or somthing.

Anyway, just did a few benchmarks on Arkham City with different CPU clocks (3.8/4.0/4.4/4.8) and it doesn't seem to be "CPU heavy".

Thanks!

I wonder if someone in this thread who has a Core i7 2600K or 2700K could run the AC benchmark??

So,ATM a 1.3GHZ GTX680 will give you 112FPS with a 3.4GHZ Core i7 2600K and a 1.125GHZ HD7970 will give 98FPS with a 4.4GHZ Core i7 2600K.

I found another HD7970 3GB score from the same website with a 1.235GHZ overclock using the same settings(1920X1080,4XAA,very high settings):

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/powercolor_lcs_hd7970/6.htm

The RAM was running at 1.76GHZ though and the HD7970 scored 111FPS.

The scores look similar but I am wondering how much the 1GHZ overclock is helping the overclocked HD7970 3GB at 1920X1080.

So,the 1.235GHZ HD7970 should be around the same as a 1.3GHZ GTX680 in the Batman:Arkham City benchmark.
