US: The Flash (2014)

Interesting and emotional episode but didn't think it was as good as last weeks.

I do think it is a shame that Barry is back already. Obviously he was going to come back at some point but I wonder if they could have written it so Jessie and Wally took over and Barry comes back for the season finale against Zoom. Though interesting that the episode suggest Jessie is a speedster but made everything out that Wally is still just plain Wally. I suppose they could explain it as Jessie has had velocity 9 previously or maybe Barry just needs to touch Wally. It did get a laugh out of me with the your body changes speech and dropping the cup :D

The last three episodes have been pretty much fillers, all three could have been a single episode.

I wish they would cut the seasons of all US shows down to about 12 episodes and make them all awesome episodes with no fillers. :(

Personally, I really enjoyed the latest episode. While I understand it wasn't a Flash v Zoom/Other baddie battle to the death it was very poignant and a good progression to the narrative. Oh and not to mention that it bought forward the Speed Force as a Living, intelligent entity!

I knew that Kevin Smith was gonna put the "Run, Barry, Run" In the episode somewhere. Oh and before people moan about Jason Mews only being in it because Kevin Smith was directing... Well it was actually the show runners that made that little part for him... ;)

The last episode was boring and tbh crap. I was nodding off in parts. It does feel like they are dragging if out now.....

I agree with this. Found myself zooming out quite a lot (see what I did there ;). I wasn't really feeling the speed force as a living entity either. Or the zombie metal guy... Or Wally in general.....

Couldn't agree more. It seems to be a scheduling thing, they need shows to run for a certain amount of time so they require them to be somewhere between 20 and 24 episodes long, but the vast majority of the time the quality suffers as a result. It's no coincidence that a lot of the best TV shows over the years have been 10-14 episodes in length.

As examples, short TV runs have included the Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Fargo, True Detective and the Wire. There aren't many TV shows (beyond comedies) that run for 20+ episodes that are up there in terms of the greatest shows ever.

never noticed till tonight when jay was holding Henry, now much they look alike, it almost as if there a family connection

It was good to see Laurel back but it felt daft treating her like a metahuman when she was just a normal human wearing the same device that Cisco made for the other Laurel, having her kick Barry's ass was stupid.

Pretty sure Earth 2 Laurel is a meta. Canary certainly can't bring buildings down, and if it was just a device they would have taken it off her at the end rather than leave it in the cell with her.

This...

Laurel wasn't wearing any device, she was a meta... And you don't want her shouting at you for leaving the toilet seat up. She wasn't wearing a device, most of the ep she was wearing one of those hot choker thingys... Drooool!
