The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Card number 2 packed up and ready to go back. :(

Already been told i'll be getting refunded along with postage costs to send the cards back. Just bloody annoying that this launch has been such a total cluster**** by amd. Quality control non existent, stock non existent, retailers digging the elbow in. Bah :(

I'm sorry to hear that. The card looks fantastic and that Xfire scaling is awesome. Darn shame lack of decent QA is mucking it all up.

Can't help but feel something like the Sapphire Tri-X cooler would do a better job and be less hassle at this point.

Time to go Nvidia?

Its incredibly frustrating, comparing the fury to my 295x2 i can see differences in games like gta5 which i'm guessing are directly related to HBM, i can turn on the advanced options on the fury x and the fps stays smooth, on the 295x2 with the advanced options on the framerate is incredibly jittery and the clocks fluctuate on the cores quite a bit.

Just seems amd went for a premium quality shroud and fan and then cheaped out on the pump and didn't bother checking the quality after the initial production units.

That's what many initially though, specially since they didn't got for Asetek again this time. Seem Cooler Master got the lowest bid in and the quality is a mess.
I really hope they bring out an air cooled version, as I think it would do well.

lol. It makes me chuckle and it was a bit naughty to say that with the amount of overclocking that is available.

I just bombed out running Thief at 1100Mhz :( I will stick with it though, as I am comparing max stable overclocks on the TX and FX for my next video. Hopefully it was just a one off and 1100Mhz will stay stable for the rest of my tests.

I think for me at least with my Fury X, 1100 is on the edge of instability in games rather than benchmarks, i can sometimes play for a few hours on GTA V or Witcher 3 and have no issues, but then only play for a few moments before it locks up, maybe altering the fan profile will hold it off with lower temps.

Desperately need the voltage unlocked.

FX looks amazing for exxxtreme gamers.

Will be interesting to see the two camps battling back and forth with driver releases. I think AMD are going to win that war though, there must be loads of untapped potential on brand new tech whereas NV have already done a lot of work, unless they're holding back. Seems they always manage to find 10% here and there.

FX does seem to scale remarkably well in xfire.

I sent OcUk a webnote asking if my sapphire preorder is still on for the 17th and whether the pump whine issue has been resolved? Answer to both questions was yes :)

Same here my friend, after trying over the weekend my Sapphire is back in its box and ready to go back for a refund.

Really gutted as performance wise I was very happy with it but I just couldn't stand that annoying high pitch noise...

Well my sapphire card was one of the latest batches and had the whine..so doubting it personally.

Did your Sapphire had a sticker on the motor of the fan? Mine didn't.
Even though I ordered mine weeks after the launch I suspect it was a very early batch one as it didn't have any stickers nor any other signs of Sapphire customization (in terms of brand or logos).

Its a shame AMD have failed yet again, they just can't seem to get things right, these would have sold well imo, along with the non Xs, but they've failed on supply, cards are just non existant :(
