The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

It didn't have anything no, apart from the box indicating that it came from Sapphire looking at the card/rad itself would give you no idea on what brand it is.

My Sapphire was the same, no stickers or identifiers. I get the impression the rushed them out the door. Another cause for concern.

I have just completed my testing for stock Vs maximum 'stable' overclock on the Titan X and Fury X and will now be putting them into a nice vid with charts and pics. Not sure whether to do a voice over on this or not. A couple of bits to do before starting and will decide then :)

Doesn't really make much difference really, on my 295x2 the only thing identifying it as a sapphire was a sticker on the fan on the rad. Not something you'd really notice anyway :)

I agree Gerard, I'm just saying that it could be an obvious way to differenciate early batch cards from the later "revised models".

Only way currently is to either take the front plate off that has stupidly small hex screws or plug it in and cross fingers.:o

I never said about me being disappointed in GTA V performance. On contrary I am absolutely blown away by my cards performance on GTA V and also blown away by how easy AMD drivers and GTA V itself sorted all the details and resolution for me. And that VRAM thingy is still mystery to me.

Sorry I was replying to this comment mainly.

Think i'm going to pick up another Fury X when in stock, performance on the whole is great, but GTA V it just seems to struggle in, maybe i'm expecting to much from a single card at 1440P i don't know.

Good luck mate, I hope you get to the bottom of it.

Cheers mate I did run a memtest about 2 months ago I think, maybe I should run it again.

edit
Just got this with WhoCrashed

"One crash dump has been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 353.06 , NVIDIA Corporation)"

Gregster. Could you check if there is difference in gpu usage in afterburner if you you run it with and without "Enable unified GPU usage monitoring". No need to make a video , just comment is enough. (I'd do it myself but since getting Fury X in Finland seems impossible...)

The non X sounds like its going to be in good supply.

Which makes me wonder why the fury x is in drips and drabs supply considering its the same chip, and in the case of the sapphire version exactly the same card with a different cooler and probably a customised bios locking down some shader cores.

If the aio is the issue then the strix and the sapphire coolers are easily capable of handling the fury x, 500 or so shaders isn't going to make a great deal of difference in terms of temps.

I'll say it again, total cluster**** of a launch, fury is in good supply according to gibbo, the sapphire version is the furyx with a modified bios and air cooler yet because of some incompetence on coolermaster and amd's part they're bleeding sales. The phrase couldn't organise a **** up in a brewery springs to mind.

Stop 'whining' ;) :p

It boggles the mind how they could be this incompetent, it seems like it was reviewers that first informed them of the pump issue, then amd saying "it only affected review units, which was amended to a "small initial number of units". Small number of units my arse. The left hand really doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

I was speaking to one of the ocuk staff on the online chat and asked him about the pump issue, according to him they've no way of knowing if it will be fixed in the incoming units, but customers have 2 weeks to return them if they're unhappy with them. So might snag 2 from ocuk when prices get to normal levels.
