The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I haven't really put too much effort into determining which to go for. The MSI does look to be offering excellent performance staying very quiet.

The current deals that OCUK have are pretty solid. I believe their is a decent deal on caseking for a 980ti gaming g1 as well.

Decisions decisions :D

I was just in touch with them, they are now babbling about issuing me a credit note when before it was a refund. Hopefully somebody just has his wires crossed.

If you want to minimise the risk of having to send something back & wish to have a card that's pretty much 99% of the speed but notably quieter, go for the G6! (at a very nice price on OCUK also atm).

Do let me k ow how you get on. I would say it is just someone taking a chance and offering credit note instead. Still l, they shouldn't be hesitant.

I'm going to hold out for them to arrange collection themselves

Yeah they said it can be a refund if i want, still processing it apparently.

Hmmm Sapphire one installed.

Theres definitely a background noise with an irritating freq and it increases under load :/

Has anyone contacted OCUK recently and seen if they honoured returns for it recently, As I know people had problems earlier?

Its daft. its not loud at all but once heard it cannot be unheard.

~edit~ nope. benchmarks reveal a pretty bad coil/pump ... screech

@Gibbo and/or @OC UK staff, can we get an indication if realistically you are expecting to have some Sapphire cards in stock tomorrow (ETA showing 17/07 currently)?

Fury X Vs TitanX single and dual card, via Digital Storm.

Cherry picked :p

I have owned the Fury X in crossfire and now have the 980ti in SLI, 980ti is way quicker apart from some games at 4k where it is close, at 1080P it's embarrassing in a lot of games how much quicker the 980's are.

If however you ONLY game at 4K then its not a bad choice but you're then at AMD's mercy when it comes to crossfire driver support for the latest titles ;)

Post some game benchmarks for comparison in the following bench threads, I'd be interested to see how the multi gpu scaling is for you. :)

Two of these cards are wasted at 1080P in my opinion.

Most people game at 1080P, I game at 4K on my TV but unfortunately could not test my Fury's at 4K on my TV for some reason that escapes me ;)

I liked the cards and they were plenty quick enough for me, I was simply saying the 980's are quicker in most games and would have still had the Fury's had it not been for the pump issues.

Each to their own of course. The Fury is targeted at 4K gaming where it's very competitive and runs in the 50C range.

I look forward to seeing your benchmarks in those threads.

i doubt most crossfire or sli users game at 1080p. Most likely multiple screen setups or higher res.

"Most people game at 1080p"
Yeah and MOST PEOPLE don't spend £1k on graphics cards either. Lmfao.

Did these cards get the overclocking potential sorted ? I know AMD was saying something they will be great overclockers.

Sadly not. Somehow its taking absolutely forever for third party tools to unlock the voltage. Unwinder said its almost ready but not quite apparently.
