I'm so so glad I got Amazon Prime worth every penny  this new show The GT is simply brilliant :D:D:D even the wife enjoyed it.

I would say Amazon 3 - BBC 0

++ I didn't realise amazon prime tv has so many good shows on it
The Man in the High Castle
Vikings
The 100
Sons of Anarchy
Preacher
The Americans
Bosch
Alpha House

To name just a few

I'm currently watching "Manhattan", it's about the Manhattan project during WW2 where it follows the lives of the scientists who had to develop the atomic bomb in complete secrecy. Very good so far.

BOT - looking forward to watching this tonight!

Felt different, obviously and lacked something I can't quite put my finger on, but that is probably just because it was different. Didn't rate the hyper car section because I saw the Harris one and that was better in my eyes. Some laughs, obvious, but still funny. Better to have it back that not have it, but not something I was wowed by this time around.

There were some parts for me that felt a bit lacking but I'm putting it down to just being teething issues and as time goes on they'll realise what works and what doesn't :)

mmm it wasn't great at midnight last night, micro pauses every 5minutes. which has never happened on amazon before. its like it ran out of buffer, but then buffered instantly.

however great episode.
what the bbc utterly failed to understand is that all though its scripted its scripted for them, it takes into account how they normal behave and just notches it up.
if the bbc sent the new presenters on some team building and then scripters scripted on the natural interactions, it would have been so much better.

There wasn't a global issue, it all went swimmingly well :)

Just to add to the load, we had 500 vms streaming it from all over the country continuously from 11:59pm as a small test, 157 dropped packets from all of them. but if you saw how many connections there were our little 'farm' was piddly in comparison!

Acquired this this morning and must say the opening part upto them introducing themselves looks very promising, and so much better than the "new" TG just from that segment! - going to watch the rest later and looking forward to doing so. :)

Why not

As long as he is a prime member he can download to his device, it doesn't say he has to be using his own internet to do this. Also nothing says he cant watch it back via linking his laptop to TV.

How is he going to download it to his laptop? The list of compatible devices for downloads from Amazon Prime are in that link and a laptop isn't one of them.

He could link up a android tablet and watch content downloaded to it from another network though.

I agree and that would work except it wasn't the question :p

Unless you mean he could link his tablet to his laptop and play it like that in which case I imagine there's DRM at play on the video files, although I may be wrong as I've not looked.

Yes, you can plug the tablet into a mincroUSB to HDMI adapter and watch it on TV like that. I assume you could also use a miracast solution too.

Ok but he specifically asked about a laptop no mention of a tablet and I never said it wouldn't work on a tablet
