its just no good, glad im moving now. i suppose it was worth a try, only wanted it to be good for 3 months as im moving out of this property then. so now the next 2 months will be with nildram

i wont be posting on here for a while as its just soooo painful trying to get anywhere! spose its a good thing as ive got exams to revise for!

EDIT: if you look at this, it shows how speeds where when things were working slightly better

Wooo, apparently my MAC code will be with me in two days \o/ (we shall see). As for the stepping problem, have a look here, this is an unofficial forum where users of evolution are congregating. I have seen the same happen with my line which is still 2mb, even when I am not torrenting, just pulling down a 500mb file from work :(

We had a new piece of kit arrive yesterday which was bolted in to the racks late in the afternoon. It is supposed to prioritise all customers fairly, regardless of the amount of data they are trying to download without imposing rate limits or shaping - essentially making the contention work for the end user rather than against.

Sounds like traffic shaping to me - just worse. It doesn't prioritise anything in particular, so everything's at the same dire level.

Well I just got this email...

Dear Customer,

A MAC has been requested for your line and will be delivered to you in up to
two working days.

Regards
EvolutionDSL Support

Now the thing is it has been working pretty nice today, and Im pleased. So can I keep the mac when I get it for up to 30 days? and if I decided to use it during this period I can.. if I dont use it I will stay with evo and it will expire after the 30 days?

Is this correct? can anyone confirm this?

Yes and no.
Yes the MAC expires after 30 days, so you can use it for up to that (with a migration date up to another 30 days after then), then it's useless and the ISP would have to generate another.
No, you might have to tell Evolution you're staying or they'll assume you're gone and cut you off after the 30 days are up. Not the way they're supposed to do it, but they wouldn't be the first.

Im on eclipse and my maxdsl was enabled last saturday, speeds havent increased at all past 240k from newsgroups all week untill today. Getting a steady 780kb/s now, can't fault it really!
