The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

I happened upon an MSI reference card for £440 inc. shipping so I thought what the heck and pulled the trigger - should be fine, all things considered, and there's always the option of purchasing the EVGA hybrid cooler later if the noise output proves too much.

Must say extremely happy with my Palit, would like to ask the other palit owners that are OC'ing what's the maximum they are getting on the core clock as mine will not go above +110

I've pushed it to 130MHz at the moment and 300+ on the memory, how far you pushed your memory?

Just got an evga hybrid to go with my classified for SLI. The hybrids asic is 76.2% and the memory will go up to +600 on each card no problem. Got the core boosted individually on each card so they boost to the same and are stable in Witcher 3 and heaven at 1455 but drops to 1443 from the classy going over 60 degrees. The witcher 3 didn't like the classy going above 1474 (1462 after 60 degrees) anyway so a nice stable clock for SLI and a great memory clock for helping out 4k. Not tried the hybrid clocked on it's own as it's not in the primary gpu slot but may mess around with it at some point. Really pleased as it suits being an sli gpu and noise from both gpu's are not teally loud.

That's a really good memory increase. My Palits dont like to go above 450 it seems

I have mine at +100, which results in an actual boost clock of 1480MHz. The power limit is stopping me going any higher. Could easily bypass that with a modded BIOS, but it doesn't seem worth the hassle for an extra 2 or 3fps.

The classy can do +700 memory stable. Thinking about it the hybrid was on a fan speed of 22% when heaven crashed at +650 but of course it may have been the classy causing the crash as it was running a bit hotter than as a single gpu. Either way +600 is great. I find at 4k overclocking the memory makes a nice difference of up to 3-4fps on the witcher 3 when i tested in single gpu with the classy.
+450 isn't bad for a stable clock you won't be losing out much even at 4k.

It's just the core temperature that's shown in Afterburner/whatever. AMD cards have VRM temperature sensors as well, which are displayed seperately. I don't think any card has memory temperature sensors. Palit do directly cool the memory chips with thermal pads though, rather than leaving them to fend for themselves like Asus and certain other manufacturers do.

Anyone have the inno3D 980ti X3 ultra? How are you finding it? I have one sitting here ready for my new build which I want powerful but as quiet as possible. Does it really not run the fans at all when load is low?

Hello. Iv managed to get my 980 ti to pass Fire Strike Ultra run at 1603 (very hit and miss if it passes or not past 1570). Iv been getting some strange results, so have taken a screan shot of my GPUz readings from the run.

I was hoping you people in the know could give me some advice on how to make it more stable and to pass more regularly at these speeds. Im currently running game stable at 1560 in Witcher 3 and GTA 5 with 0 voltage added. As it doesnt go above 58c at 60% fan Iv got room for more voltage/bios flash if you think its the right thing to do with the reading im getting?

Would a Bios flash with a higher TDP get rid of all that horrible blue, yellow and green stuff in the performance cap section!?

This is my first attempt at posting an image, so I hope it works ok!
