The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Not me, I am waiting / hoping for price drops on the 980 ti's to add another and SLI it, I had a sneaky feeling this time around that I am best keeping my 980 ti rather than sell it. To think some have been selling used ones for around £350~ it's madness :p

I've made my bed...:p

Look forward to playing with some new tech

1070 sli maybe...

I'm after 100FPS 3440 x 1440

Would be smarter to just buy two second hand GTX 980 Tis right now for far less (1070 going to cost a lot more than they are worth if the GTX 1080 prices are anything to go by).

Well, I'm still happy with my Ti ;)

Considering I'm only playing 'The Division' atm sweet as a nut with just a few non-essentials turned down then I'm more than happy to wait til the 3rd party cards are out :)

(and to see what the 1070's are like in SLi)

I'm waiting for the non founder edition 1080

Might even get a 1070 if the performance is on par with a 980ti....

As a 980 Ti owner, I'm not particularly fussed about the GTX 1080.

Guru3D GTX 1080 Firestrike benchmark: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/nvidia_geforce_gtx_1080_review,28.html
21905 graphics score
105.94 FPS test 1
86.5 FPS test 2

My overclocked GTX 980 Ti: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8454069 (at lower temps and noise levels)
21606 graphics score
104.44 FPS test 1
85.36 FPS test 2

If you can match a newer card's stock performance with a slower card that is overclocked, then the newer card probably isn't worth it. When your card has no hope of beating a new card's stock performance, then you know that it's a decent upgrade.

I think you're really cherry picking your comparison there. Your overclocked card vs a stock 1080 on an irrelevant benchmark.

I think you're really cherry picking your comparison there. Your overclocked card vs a stock 1080 on an irrelevant benchmark. In games the 1080 is a good 20-40% faster, has more memory and uses far less power. Personally it's too expensive for me but it soundly trumps the 980Ti.

Yep,

It's just people trying to convince themselves not to upgrade :p

If you sold your TI at 400 it's a win IMO.
