The GTX Titan X owners thread.

I've reseated the card and checked all the connections power and motherboard.
Everything's in the right slot getting the full x16 lanes

When I said unlocking this previously I meant under clocking

Stock availability for a replacement SC may be a problem though. Hope you get it sorted asap, but as said above, ocers will look after you.

Strange enough I've just played for 3 hours with no crashes.

Was fine for me for a few days then just started doing it. Have tried other games and ran a benchmark and card seems fine so seems specific to FC4.. Am going to give up on the game for a while hoping it gets fixed. Was looking for a yak two and while driving a vehicle with a mounted gun I came across three near the road. Next second was about to skin them for my next upgrade when.......black screen -aaarrrsssseeeee.

Started using TXAA, and it's really really nice for 1080P. GTA V, Titanfall etc look much better with this on. I like it so much it might make me stick with Nvidia when 3XX series arrive unless AMD offer something similar.

How many guys here would be tempted to move to the red team if the 390X beats the Titan X by a good 10% - 15%?

Some people will go bonkers and sell their TXs very cheaply to move to the red team, which means an easier means of going TRI or Quad TX for 4K while still have 12GB for futureproofing :D

I'm personally just going to be adding cards until I get to 4, then move on :)

It does not mater what the margin is, if the 390X only has 8gb it is almost obsolete before it is launched as a highend card.

'Only' 8GB! Obsolete with 8GB.... 980 has 'Only' 4GB and that sells fine as a high end card. It's a shame people have different rules for AMD..

You crazy bro :p, 8GB will be fine for years !!

that is daft, 8gb is fine for 4K..........but you wont notice 4K at 9.5ft away on a 55'' to a 65'' tv, (your eyes wont detect the increase in Resolution and detailing that far away) ............the 4K tv has to be either miles bigger at 9.5ft away, or miles closer.

4k looks great for gaming because your monitor is damned close to you, i've been researching this all week...... very interesting

here are the viewing distances, it's quite a shock:-

conclusion:- if you game via tv forget about 4K, this will also apply to 4K TV as well, because it will always look like a normal 1080p TV at 9.5 ft away and it does in the showrooms too.

keep your Panasonic plasmas for now ;)

Anyone else find it mad that we've went from 2 gig to 3 to 4 to 6,8 and 12 in such a short space of time? Obviously 4k and ultra wide screens have a lot to do with that, just can't remember a time in the past where vram jumped up amounts so quick. Still remember having 8mb of ram on an integrated ati rage chipset, or my mighty voodoo 3 2000 pci with its 16mb of 6NS (or around that memory). :D

I expect Nvidia considered 8GB for the Titan X but that would have meant a memory config like the 970 3.5GB + 0.5GB, no doubt Nvidia wanted to avoid a lynching..

6GB / 12GB works perfect on GM200 without compromising the chip, but they couldn't of justified only 6GB as well as nerfed compute on the Titan X (The reason for OG Titan price).

So now we have 12GB which let's face it is just massive overkill but goes some way to justify it's high price tag. By the time we need 12GB Titan X will be lacking in GPU grunt compared to newer cards.

It will be interesting to see how many people claim 12GB is needed but then go onto praise the 980 Ti with only '6GB'. It's a fickle thing the graphics card forum :p

8GB will be absolutely fine for gaming for a long time, and by the time it's not those type of buyers will have upgraded anyway :D

If AMD can sell an 8GB card with Titan X performance for half the price that would be nice and also hopefully force Nvidia to be a bit more realistic price wise.

+1 cost is what will motivate me to make the switch beyond anything else, if performance is on par but costs much less I will sell up and go Radeon. If performance is a lil better but very expensive I may just stay put with my TX for now. Depends on how much I could get back on my card.

The Titan X is a beast, no probs with the card at all. I just don't want it's value to be lost, so keeping my eye on 390X release to see if I need to sell up..
