The GTX Titan X owners thread.

It looks like only 2 way Sli will be possible, normally if it's higher they say so in brackets.

Also, to be taken with a large pinch of salt, on the Wikipedia page.

A maximum of 2 dual-GPU cards can be connected in tandem for a 4-way SLI configuration as dual-GPU cards feature on-board 2-way SLI.

No idea where they got the info from, but given the die size a dual core card could well be on the cards.

Here is the 1080 specs

It only mentions 2 way SLI with a special bridge

It may be possible to go 3 or 4 way with ordinary bridges but there is no mention in the specs about it.

I might be blind but it actually doesnt say how many cards can be SLI'ed?
SLI ready = yes and it supports the new bridge
Or did i miss a line?

You missed the new bridges, they are all only 2 way.:)

The only difference between them is for the PCI-E slot spacing.

Will have to wait and see i guess. i take it as A its SLI ready and B Also supports the new bridges.
Not that it doesnt support older ones aswell.
I see on older cards it makes no note of what types of bridge being supported but has the number of cards that can be sli'ed max.

Time will tell it guess hopefully its not a sign that Nvidia is moving away from 3-4 card solutions completely

I suspect that you will be able to use older bridges for 3 or 4 way SLI.

A big clue will be what comes in the box with the 1080s. If older bridges don't work then there will probably be new 2 way bridge(s) in the accessories that come with the cards.

I also suspect that the reason for the new bridge is not for normal resolutions up to 2160p but for the higher resolutions that the 1080p can output.

Keeping mine and waiting for 1080ti.

Can't see the point of going through the hassle of selling on the bay with the inherent risk to maybe clear £100 on top of the cost of a 1080 for about a 20% increase.

Ouch. I couldn't justify letting mine go for that low.

Yeah sod that. I kept mine in the end. Just going to chalk this one up to a not so great financial event. Lol. Usually don't lose too much money when flogging GPU's but then I suppose the jump to Pascal from Maxwell appears to be quite a bit more significant than from previous generations.

And lets face it 2 TX's is going to be pretty satisfactory for a good couple of years!!
