The High-Res Screenshot Thread!

Can you fly an SR-71 Blackbird in FSX aswell?

"Yea, tho I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death I will fear no evil - for I am at 81,000 feet and climbing".

This is a quote from one the pilot who flew one of the most famous aircrafts in all of avionic history, the Lockheed Strategic Reconnaissance 71 or the SR-71, also known to many as the Blackbird!

Enjoy:

There are more in this series, they can be found at http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii172/Soya4me/TV Setup/FSX/FSX Resized/Bird in Black/ for those interested.

Thank you for viewing, I hope you enjoyed these.

Just put him on your ignore list from the User CP, problem sorted.

or maybe.. since i wasnt insulting him, nor his pictures, he might take on board some advice and maybe set up an FSX thread, since some people may find whole pages of different angles of planes boring, just like anything else it can become a bit repetative, and just like anything else that is posted in pages and pages at a time

Some screens from LOTRO.

An event that was held on ENRP-Laurelin last night, featured music, tales and banter :) Got a few screenshots from it.

Screens capped at 1280 x 1024, on default High settings (LOTRO can also do Extra High and Ultra High).

Enjoy!

My dad used to do fire inspections on the SR-71's when he was in the USAF. One flew over our house in cali once, dad asked at work if it had and they denied it :D Made the hole house shake :D

Absolutely awesome shots there Soya :)

Btw, can you have a look in the Flight Sim thread here, I posted up a few questions in there earlier :)

Thanks, glad you liked the shots. I checked the thread and answered all your questions, shout if you need any more help. Cheers

Awesome, now I want to get back in to Flight Simulator :)

Thanks, and go for it, but I would recommend reading many of the suggestions I have made in this thread and http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17996938
Hope you get the most out of it.

Very cool, considering this bird is now permanently retired, its a real privilege to have seen/been involved with it. True miracle of engineering that plane is, considering it was made in the 60s.

Which is the blackbird addon? Freeware/payware? Thanks.

(Awsome screens btw :) )

Thanks, glad you like the screens. That particular Blackbird model is done by a company called Alphasim. http://www.alphasim3.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=194.

One thing to always keep in mind when buying addons for FSX, esp planes, the more recent the addon has been made, the more likely it will perform and look better. Cause the older planes are basically not natively written for FSX and converted from FS2004 or the older modeling techniques where not as good as nowadays. Best is to check out screenshots and reviews before committing to getting an addon, as you would with any game I guess. Hope that helps.

SR-71 Blackbird pics.

Some of them are getting towards looking true-life, they're excellent - Truly one of the best planes ever made. It's a shame satellites have taken over such an achievement - Mach 3+ flight.
