The High-Res Screenshot Thread!

Yeah it's not res evil if it's not in semi 2D with door opening sequences that last a lifetime and save games that are done via typewriter!

.

Resi 5 is a great game.

It has changed since resi 1 on the ps1... but thats a good thing.

If you have not played this i recomend it.

No, it isn't a good thing.

RE5 is a *GREAT* game, but it isn't as good as resident evil's like RE:Remake on the cube or Code Veronica on the PS2/cube/Dreamcast.

They had more atmosphere.... I think I just prefered the survival horror versus the action game is all. :)

Well i suppose it comes down to opinion.

Atmosphere is one of those intangible elements in a game. What makes atmosphere? The origional resi games did this by giving you almost enough ammo to win and by slowing the gameplay down to a crawl with what mrk points out (doors and typewriter).

If resi 5 was just a complete rehash of previous titles with no development or gameplay then i wouldnt want to play.

Games need to develop and grow, old games that are remembered fondly are usualy done so through rose tinted glasses.

Now look at that, that's far better :), shows how much the game needs supersampling.
Shift looks awesome on downscaled pics.

I figured it would be annoying for as most people have 1920 1200 monitors to post the larger screens.

I was thinking the same thing about supersampling. The game is very good though.

Would have been better if you were allowed to works mod all the cars lol.

Nope, I played the earlier ones very recently.

If they want to release a side series of games which are more action like then fine. But the main series should always be survivor horror, there aren't many good games in the genre as it is. :(

Yes, but Snowdog wasn't judging the game itself or the game mechanics. Just on graphics/related technologies - and although I will admit I haven't tried shift. From the screenshots Grid looks a bit nicer. Both look decent. But imo Grid has the edge.

Though it does depend what you are looking for. :)

Just started playing COD4 again. This is still one of the most amazing games I have ever played to be honest. :D

Got to agree with that, I had COD4 a while back and it was a bit pants on a 6800LE - but good given the hardware I was running it on at the time - so I sold it in the MM, now a have a C2D, 2GB and an 8800 GTS, its a whole new experience and I got it again.

Some new Shift screenies after playing for a while today, not the best looking but looks alright to me :P
