The how much data do you use thread.

Under 2gb a month, but I spend most of the time in areas where WIFI is available. That being said, my usage may increase with the announcement that three made.
I wish three hadn't done that.
1 net neutrality matters.
2 mobile phone costs are complex enough to compare.

1. Fair point
2. It hasn't made much difference to the structure so far, according to the website it is included in 4gb+ advanced plans (don't know about those mid contract though).

point 2 was more about the increasing complexity of comparing already complex data plans, what happens when everyone starts offering "free data" for different companies services?

Depends, I use between 5GB and 20GB. I don't have it on WiFi at home as I get full 4G signal as the mast is right near my house and my internet sucks.
I use Spotify on the go, as well as Youtube and Netflix sometimes.

That alone makes me wish Three hadn't done it, So now you are going to have to look through their list of "approved" sites to see which ones are allowed "unlimited". Suffice to say all the services they are offering to have unlimited streaming I don't use! Thankfully I still have an unlimited data plan but I wonder how long it is going to be before they try to get people off it.

Basically like T-Mobile Americas Binge thing.

Probably around 2-3GB a month, I have unlimited data (because they offered me it silly cheap), but use WiFi at home and work.

Still rocking T-Mobile 3G all you can eat data. EE kept calling me to move me onto a "cheaper" contract so I had to up my data usage to stop the calls. Usually around 2gb a month but I up it to 8gb every so often to stop the calls (above 4gb the contract is usually more expensive so no saving to change). They don't seem to care about tethering on legacy packages which is useful when on the road with a laptop.

Sorry, I was referring to the "free" spotify, etc.

I have two NFC tags on the living room light switch. One for 2.4ghz Wifi and one for 5Ghz Wifi. Tap the back of your phone on it as you come in...

I've got some spare NFC tabs in drawer. Any guides floating around? Android only or does it work on iPhone too.

Edit : didn't realise you could directly do it from the settings app. Just slapped one in the living and and one in the hallway

30gb allowance but use around 5gb per month. I'm on wifi at home and work and drive to work so not sat on a bus watching YouTube :)

My normal monthly usage is around 5gb, however this month I'm already on 12gb.
The culprit..... Skygo watching the tour de France while in the office.
Unfortunately our WiFi is pants, 1 or 2mb on a good day, whereas my 4g is around 15-20mb

~20GB personal use, business use depends on what i'm testing but I try and cap it to 20 because otherwise I get an angry e-mail. Voda just got a new super antenna that does 450+MBit up/down at HQ so currently exploring the power of Science to see what i can get out of it :) It's all Youtube, I can't stop the 1080/720p60 streams, they are so nice.

Mine is super low at approximately 220-300mb a month. Tend to stick to wifi 90% of the time and even then I might manage just over a gig. I don't do any streaming on the phone as it's just too small, much better on the laptop.

Average around 60gb per month. Also about 10-15gb tethering.

Interestingly, Three don't pick up my tablet as tethered. So that doesn't eat into my tethered data allowance.

worst "I use loads of data, look at me" thread ever.

Why do you abuse mobile data (your words there) ? This is why we can't have nice things.
This. Some of you lot are mental. Then again I just don't understand YouTube. Is that because I'm over 30? :p I'd rather watch proper TV programmes, what is there actually on YT that keeps people entertained for so long?

I use <1GB every month but I have a 2GB limit with Giffgaff. Hardly ever use data because I'm either at home (wifi) at work (wifi) or commuting on the tube. Which means no signal, which means all my podcasts, music etc are pre-downloaded. On the occasions I've tried to stream music whilst out and about it's never worked terribly well. I think I've managed to watch a couple of film trailers at the end of my commute where it's above ground. But the signal there is flakey so I generally get the rage from buffering..

Huge range of things on YouTube - there are a lot of videos of build projects, etc. i.e. before they became meh I used to watch quite a few of the tested videos of Adam Savage's one day builds quite a lot of people find stuff like that interesting.

EDIT: Not my thing but a lot of the younger generation seem fascinated by watching other people play games for hours as well - some of those streaming can be quite entertaining as personalities and/or have a small community that participates in their streaming which can be somewhat interesting though not something that could keep me interested for long personally.

As for youtube, with me it is all about the music especially songs i don't have, and as of late since i don't go out i just use wifi now, i'm done abusing data ;-).

Only going to use mobile data/4g as a backup and when i have no wifi connection, when i am outside that is.

I as of late have done 13gb of mobile data and 14.60gb of wifi data.

Some people need not to criticize others data usage and keep it constructive.

People who have done under a little of their data usage i think they hardly use the phone or use an app that hardly uses their mobile data.

As for Youtube my friend the stuff they put on tv is usually crap in my opinion unless it is a documentary or music or educational programs, whereas youtube isn't varying on what you watch on youtube.

Or repeats on tv regarding the tv program, so yea i rather stick with youtube, cheers.

Should give you an idea of my music taste i can go on and on and on but i will leave this here regarding what music i listen too whether you care or not :0),

And yes look at me :0), i mean who gives a damn i take it for granted that anyone doesn't really care in a non judgmental way but i was proven wrong people out their do care.

They should ignore unless they have a personal problem with it but i love sharing thing like this as well as knowing of other peoples data or whatever, and i don't care if i get ignored or whatever apart from people who say look at me :) so i state it and yes that is my motive.

As for respect i give full respect to people (anyone) as in brotherly love but not sex, whereas the saying goes to respect a little, the same as i treat my self which is full respect.

I am a full believer in this and yes this is off topic but yeah https://100777.com/spiritual/beings_having_a_physical_experience .

No pun intended.
