me too. ive actually managed to shoot a deer but couldnt find it after it ran off. not had anything since!
 
ok basically from lodge heres what i do-

hunting time 11oclock

run straight towards the nearest road diagonal left from lodge.

follow/run down this road until you get to second meadow on left.

be careful cause on this meadow theres often deer elk or turkey! just grazing

cut across this field if nothing there towards lake /left side.

now you can either follow road up to next meadow with tower or look round middle lake.


in tower- wait call both deer and turkey caller few times and scan area with binos.give 5 mins then call again.

if after say ten mins move onto another meadow.

if you notice i keep saying meadow its because thee best easiest places to find animals.just make sure your careful befire you enter one as youll often scare stuff on there.

the best meadow is just up from the wigwam on the map.


i dont often go tracking animals cause it takes too much time unless its elk.


turkeys will come straight to you if you spot them a lot of the time.just call them if you spot them and wait.

elk are worst a lot of them you will have to track and are easily spooked.
if you get within distance ncrawl on belly across fields until in range to shoot .
unless your seen or smelt they wont move no matter how close you get.

elk can often be found on edges of forest woodland and especially near water.
 
I've never seen anything while camped in a tower, even while doing other stuff around the house and occasionally using the caller. Up to 45 mins of it at the most i think.
 
The most luck i have is tracking noises, i always tend to be too cautious when tracking poo and stuff and let them get too far away.

Exactly the same for me, i have yet to see a deer after about 2 hrs of play.
Tried tracking them at first, then tried creeping up to various meadows, luring them with the bleater from towers/edge of meadows, nothing :(
So i've given up too.
My game must be bugged! ;)

Also, i keep hearing the Predator.. maybe that's why there are no deer.

lol thats the elk :D:D

i liken it to noise off star trek and on jurassic park 2 where he blows down the raptor voice box he makes.
 
Got my first Elk after Dg's help, but heres something strange, there was 4 males, 1 female..so i snuck up downwind, used the smoke thing way before i was close to them, got myself into a perfect firing place..aimed...and all 4 males ran...yet the female just stood there, so my only Elk kill is a Female. Thing is, what the hell spooked the 4 males and why not the female.

I love this rifle - the first red mark is where the bullet hit, and the deer flew to its current resting place :D
 
weird cause the elk are supposed to only move around in same sex groups unless its mating season (thankyou wiki :D)

i saw a female on the shore near middle lake earlier and just a short distance was a male bull elk who was calling.dont know if he was calling her or what.

also rained a lot today hasnt rained for weeks.
