The Hunter

Any plans on putting this on the Mac?

the head person plays it on a mac heres his response

I'm playing it on my MacBook Pro from 2008 using Boot Camp and Windows 7.

However, it's not possible to play as a native MacOSX application.

Will you ever incorporate it so it is playable on MAC?

Ever is a long time. ;) But there are no current plans to port it to Mac.

so depends what os

there has been a reply to this on the forums anyone who brought anything last twenty four hrs it is logged and sorted . so dont worry you wont lose anything .

servers back up and running with all latest updates

Yeah but thats not really the point.

The have a stupid system.

Firstly there should be a note on the homepage advising members that there was a patch being released and at what time.

Players should have been disconnected at that time, the database should have been backed up. Then release patch. Restart/test then reopen at X time.

Yes, due to the issues it would still have taken the same time to restore the backup, however none of their member base would have lost anything. I understand its a small team etc, but that doesn't excuse not having proper processes in place.

And even then, there can be issues. We do a release a week on average, and half of those need patching or rolling back, but its a quick and safe process.

EDIT you should change your sig to link to your webpage, saves lazy so and so's like me having to type it in :p

it wasnt due to the patch that it went down it was due to some bad coding which they did say about straight away . then they put on the front pg of thehunter it was down for maintenance.

here is latest update and some news

I never said the patch was to blame, it was the server update that was part of the patching process that at fault and caused the issue. They've admitted it was pure human error. The server update took place at the same time as the patch, and any time you make changes to the server or release a patch they should still:

Advise players in plenty of time.
Kick all players at the set time.
Backup server/database.
Release patch / updates (either server or client).
Test.
Open to members.

My issue is not that it was down, but their process for doing a release is amateurish.

There is no point telling people after the fact that changes happened and messed up. Everything should have been announced on the website (not the forum) from when they even chose a launch date for it.

It's still a great game and I was playing all night again to try and get tracking for mule back to lvl 5 :( But, if they are charging for a service, they should be professional about it.

Timely bump!

I reinstalled this this week, after not being on it for about a year or more and I think I need to give my GFX card a clean out. FAN ramped right up and I started getting odd GFX glitches, still had them in windows, firefox etc after quitting. Manually ramped the fan up to cool it down then rebooted, which cleared the glitches in windows but not tried the game again yet. Been playing BC2 tonight with no issues so the card still seems ok.

Might sign up for another month or so and try out some of the new additions. What are the portable hides and tree platforms like to use?
