yes its very popular
you can download a free version which lets you go on loggers point and hunt mule deer
there is the paid version aswell which lets you hunt all animals and go on all the islands to hunt and other various perks.
paid version with a 3 month license to hunt all is about 9 quid which isnt bad at 3 quid a month .
you can purchase all other weapons and addons if you want from docs store like a compound bow or treestand or ground blind .
there are also lots of comps running every day and you can win trophies and ems to buy euiptment with so if you good at game you can pay for all your stuff this way
if you not sure download free version its about 850mb i think and give it a try.
if you want to add me add me in friends and ill give you a few tips if im on in game.

I entered myself in a Muley Buck compition, plan on hunting after work.
It's been on for like 1h and people have already scored 230+pt bucks! Where the hell do you find those!
I get like 118pt bucks
PS: I like how (apart from ONE competition) to win ingame moneyfrom a comp you need a weapon that funnily enough, costs real money...

these will often be in a group of five male mule deers he will sit back though and not come in until last . the bigger ones are more careful and crafty 
if you get a male muley call, call back once and wait . he will come to you just call once every few minutes until he is in view.
the guns are worth it and if you win a few comps you can pay for your weps.

This looks really good and immersive, downloading now, quick question can you hunt at night or is it daytime only?
Just wondering if there is night vision in the game etc.
Also what is the camping gear for? can you stay out for days on end and the game follows the 24 hour day / night cycle?

Keep the track mate out, when you here a noise, press the mouse button and it'll ask if you want to track it. click YES.
Then open the map and try and put a locator in the general area where the trackmate said the sound came from.
walk to the area and look for red/blue (depending on your options) light patches, these indicate tracks, go over with trackmate out and click when you are close.
Your trackmate should beep to indicate you can track it, then click. Or just wander around until you find a trail and follow the direction it was headed until you find more. Once you start getting close (indicated by the solid circle on your track mate when you click on a fresh track) then slow right down so you don't spook it.
Well I feel like a bit of a twonk to be fair, been trying to track what I can probably describe as a loud woodpecker noise, finally heard my first actual deer noise, spent an hour looking for it but got to tired, will give it another go today.
