The Hunter

I'd forgotten why I stopped playing this so I remembered my password and long-lost email address I had signed up with and downloaded it again, straight away I couldn't believe that there were still no Mouse-Thumb buttons mappable!

And then I started playing and within 15mins I remembered why I stopped... Sea/Motion-sickness from the stupid (Un-turn-off-able) head-bob, I think it exaggerates the problem for me by being so detailed and having to concentrate so hard looking for clues and movement. It was so bad I couldn't face looking at my monitor for the rest of the night without feeling queasy. Ironically I go off-shore Sea-Fishing regularly and in sometimes very rough seas and have never once been sea-sick. Only time it happens is in certain Games with head-bob and usually you can either turn it off in options or tweak a .cfg to stop it :(

Have you tried emailing the company asking for the option to turn it off?

I can't say I've noticed it myself, usually too engrossed in the game but I also spend a lot of time walking diagonally :p

I actually did search their Forums and even Googled to see if anyone else had the same problem and to see if there was any solution but it seems to be just me :D I have no idea why it gets me so bad, I put it down to the concentration/eye-strain and the weird thing is, it's not even an actual 'Head-bob' it's more subtle than that although I'm sure the required effect is a 'Head-bob' if that makes sense, whatever it is it makes me very, very nauseous very, very quickly. I can't watch 3D Movies for the same reasons although they usually take a little longer and give me more of a splitting headache than nausea.

add me ingame if you want to chat when im on my ingame name is ronMctube :D

what the others have said free version lets you hunt male and female mule deer on loggers point.thats unlimited and you can join in mule deer comps with that aswell

with paid subscriptions which works out about 3 quid a month (hardly anything )

you can hunt every animal on every island compete in all comps with ems which is like free money to buy equipment like guns tents treestands and so on.

there are leader boards for highest score and distance shooting , personal best and hall of fame . you can check any of your previous hunts or friends aswell

a lot of game for very little and is pure pc gaming no console touches which is why i love this game .

animals currently ingame are

Mule deer
pheasant
bLacktail
Feral hogs
coyote
turkey
elk
whitetail
black bear
moose
roe deer
wild boar
red deer

you also now have missions and unlocks to do

best thing to do is try free version and see how you get on .

site is here http://www.thehunter.com/pub/

and just register a new account and away you go .

3 quid a month? where did you get that from?

if you break down a yearly license cost into months or a 3 month license it works out about 3 quid a month for paid version

if you want the free version you can play that

tbh this game is one of only a handful where i trust exactly what the devs say and they will answer everything honestly. reason i played it for so long and its also a great game with many things to do .

if you are competitive there are many competitions aswell

you do get the best from the paid version of the game but its no different from buying a normal game a years license is about same as a normal pc big release

i think this year it will really take off and get to where it should be

hopefully on steam this year aswell
