The fresh allegations tonight have come from the BBC and no doubt more will come to light as they investigate.

TBF the Suns stated intent was to make sure he was investigated and now he will be - the whole circus has largely been down to him thinking he could get out of it rather making a statement last week.

Allegedly being the key word there because AFAIK The Sun, or anyone for that matter, hasn't presented any evidence of the pictures or the money being paid. I'll admit I've only been listening to coverage in the background so maybe i missed something but by the sound of it all we've got to go on so far are the parents saying it happened.

e: And to add this wouldn't be the first time The Sun has taken what someone said and ran with it only for it to be discovered the person telling The Sun made it all up and they didn't bother with due diligence before going to press.

The Sun has handed over its dossier of evidence to the BBC which I think includes bank statements…

The Sun says at "no point" did it allege criminality in its original story about the BBC star after the newspaper reported claims an unnamed presenter paid a teenager for explicit images. However a former editor of the paper says it is facing a "crisis".

Are you claiming that the Sun is in possession of evidence that extends beyond that of the evidence already examined by the Metropolitan police?

If so, would you mind pointing us to the sources that have convinced you of this?

I ask only because, that’s an extremely bold claim you’ve just made; and if you’ve formed this opinion based on rational, evidence based grounds, then substantiating it should be a fairly trivial request.

OK maybe I should have given a bigger explanation.

It's better to say nothing, and then try to not worry about it and move on in your own space, than to open your mouth, have whatever you say twisted against you, then have to explain that further, and then have that twisted against you, and you'll never escape from the endless battle where a group is trying to make you out to be terrible, while you're trying to just be open and Frank.

The police would only have investigated whether there were any pics of a 17 year old - none were found hence NFA. All the other stuff plus the new staff allegations are for the BBC to investigate - it sounds like there are other allegations that haven’t been made public that will also be investigated by the BBC.

The thing with depression is you can get to a state of apathy pretty quick. People speaking about you like this would easily send you over the edge if you are just holding it together anyway which lets be honest most people with mental health issues are.

I can image he just wanted to hide in a dark corner and probably thought good and hard about suicide.

I’m confused… Are you now saying that you’re just randomly throwing stuff around based upon absolutely nothing?

Forgive me, but that seems like an astonishingly dramatic climb down from your previous post, when you said this:

Do you have good reason to believe that the Sun have access to evidence that is beyond that seen by the Metropolitan police or not?

If so, would you please mind sharing the sources and evidence you’ve seen that have convinced you of that?

It’s been an incredibly hard story to follow, and if what you say is actually true, I would like to know about it.

No he was reportedly really angry about it and wanted to fight it / try and silence people with threats etc.

if I had been getting up to stuff on a dating website (albeit legal) and was then threatened to. be outed to the public i may be tempted to use fruity language too.

I have only seen stuff about 2 of the accusations. 1) the victim which is now however you slice it an adult says nothing bad happened.

2) the chat transcript with the hearts shows 2 people talking ... possibly a bit flirty for sure ... but shows the younger one doing most of the pushing as as soon as his age becomes apparent the posts by Huw are completely above board. friendly but nothing more at all.

if that is the level of his grooming then it is not worthy of the crap being thrown his way

the fact he is married and may have been unfaithful has zero to do with it... that is a family matter
and talk of "may not be legal but it's sleazy" is imo judgemental crap
if it's legal then it's nowt to do with us... just like if he was seen coming out of spearmint rhinos .....

I mean ask a hard-line Muslim and they would think a skirt above the calves and even a hint of cleavage is immoral ..... if he is proven to have groomed children throw him under the bus.

if it isn't then cut him some slack imo, he has to face the music to his family ...... the breach of lockdown cheeses me off..... but not to this level. unlike Bojo and co .. he was reporting the news.... he wasn't making the rules

Bank statements don’t prove criminality -he could just say it was gifts.

The crack and lawyer came from somewhere so I don’t think anyone is disputing payments - but if any photos have been deleted and the victim doesn’t want to make a complaint there’s not much the police can do.
