The Indoor Riding/ Zwift/ TrainerRoad etc. Thread

That's not a bad idea really.

You moving to Spain? I'm not even happy for you! :p

Seems like it really helps with the discomfort, cheap too with just a bit of plywood, some hinges and tennis balls. GCN did one and i'm sure there are better ones out there.

Yeah, going next month for 3 months to make sure it works for us, and then aiming to come home, get the house ready over the summer then stick it up for sale in September with a view to then move over permanently either late this year or early next year.

Managed to improve my Alpe time a bit:
Dec 2020 - 1hr25
Today- 57:43

Was incredibly tough, but happy to break to 1 hour. Also counts towards the 3000m climb challenge.
Congrats - that's more than 'a bit' of an improvement!

I thought I'd have a go at a few more races so tried stage 1 of the ZRacing Scotland series. I got lucky and happened to join the fastest of the races (so far) which has put me way higher up the leaderboard than I deserve. It won't last, sadly!

It's valid until the 28th but only in the UK, depending if you're in FR or UK at the moment

I'm unable to send you a direct message but I'll keep refreshing this page and as soon as you post, I'll put the code up
I'm mostly* in the UK until July, but can receive parcels to either. UK is fine :).

Anyone had issues getting on the the Makuri Islands maps?
Never had an issue till this week where Zwift will kick me out if I try to load. All other maps load & run fine.

Nothing on the PC has changed, but map loads fine on my phone & tablet?

Tried the usual, uninstalled & reinstalled Zwift, latest GPU drivers, windows updates etc.

I've not had trouble on mobiles I usually use, but this world is much more of a CPU hog, for whatever reason.

Does anyone use those generic foam gym tiles you can see online? Looking at getting some for the shed but wondering if I would need to put carpet underlay underneath them or if they're OK to go right onto the base?

Have you bought it yet? I have a £50 off voucher you can have if not

My pain-cave is almost finished! Got some friends coming over tomorrow to help me finish insulating and boarding it up. Electrician should be out next week to finish putting the sockets and lights. Going to order some underlay and carpet and then I'll be ready to go!

Ordered a 43" TV and will steal the Ikea Sonos speaker from the kitchen to go in there along with a laptop docking station and a few other boring bits. Really excited to have a dedicated space for the turbo set up and means I can actually give the 'build me up' plan a proper crack.

Give it a go. It's hard but it's certainly do able! I think it's more mentally taxing than anything else.

I'll keep forcing myself up until I get those bloody wheels.
Sorry to jump on this, but if you have that voucher i would be up for using it as im about to pull the trigger on one myself!

@Musty Pie if it doesn't work, fight it out

Thanks mate, im sure it will help someone!

Going to order mine tonight i think, after ive had one last ride on my Tacx Flow Smart. Main reason i want to upgrade is just to reduce the noise a bit. I have a modest victorian terrace and the sound resonates through it with a wheel on trainer...

Im a terrible cyclist by comparison to all on here, I'm only really a "Fair weather" rider and do it mainly for fun and firtness and then undo all the hardwork over winter in the gym weightlifting, and yet to find a happy medium between the two things i enjoy.

Hoping the ZH will allow me to do a bit more indoor riding in off season, as i always put it off before becayse changing my Tyre, And setting up the wheel on is a a faff, and then the misses complaints about the hum noise.

That's my place on these forums and I'll be damned if I let you take it from me! :p

My little space is coming together, slowly by surely. Just wanted to put some bits in the shed to make sure it all fits but need to take it all back out to give another coat of pain and put the flooring down for when it arrives either tomorrow or Friday.

It's going to be a bit snug with the unit at the front so I may have to return that and get a desk so that my front wheel has the space. It's going to be millimetres wrong or right :o

Hoping it'll be ready by the time that Rapha challenge starts next week. Fingers crossed.

Edit: not sure why I thought it would be so close. Plenty of space!

Well I'm sorry if I do, my numbers are dreadful at the moment. Be interesting to see where I can get them too this year.

Placed my order with the code INSIDER50 which worked, so glad i checked this thread. Just got to sell my Tacx Flow Smart to soften the blow a little cost wise and i think ill be happy.

Plus i'm fairly sure you're more capable than me @Junglist!

Have you considered removing the front wheel and having some kind of fork mount? That would likely save a decent chunk of space.
