The Indoor Riding/ Zwift/ TrainerRoad etc. Thread

^ all about pacing, even more so when there's no weather to factor. Same average power distributed differently over two laps of the same course will produce two different times (presuming it's not pan flat ;) )

You're looking at between 20-30mins at threshold so enjoy :p

Ok so Zwift just didn't want to play ball tonight - crashes, login errors, events disappeared. Eventually found a race - joined and got going then all the riders vanished.

Frigging annoying.

Not just you Merlin, I got into Zwift fine but no events showing. Pressed to join using the mobile app but that didn’t work.

First time I can remember it having issues.

I still got on to ride and for once everything was sweet. The graphics are great and really smooth, the new chain on the bike has made it nice and quiet, I have been on the TT recently so on the road bike my lungs opened up a bit and I felt really good!

:(

I just expect stuff to work - especially when we're paying for this.

Proper miffed - well over an hour wasted, postponed eating tea etc etc. Worst of all I was feeling sharp - all ready to put in a good stint.

That was just like me the other day. I had a **** fit and started throwing things and swearing haha

I was close to really losing my ***t. I always build in time so I can get everything set up nicely - calibrate the trainer, sort myself out clothes/shoes/drink etc - I build in time for a warmup too - so you've got yourself all set then it starts ******* about with suddenly not remembering your password, or saying you're not connected to the internet when you clearly frigging well are, you're constantly looking at the time seeing you've got 2 minutes before a race then sure enough - you miss your race with all the arsing about. Then you look for another but it's 30 mins away and not the sort of thing you want to do.

JUST ******G WORK YOU POS.

Glad it wasn't just me, I lost a ride last night as it crashed when I tried to upload. Was not happy as it was a decent ride!

Worked fine for me last night but wouldn't have cared if it didn't as I was watching the Apprentice :o :p

Was done by 6:45PM mind so not sure if they had issues later than this.

Some time after 7pm it all went to pot.

Perks of unconventional working hours :)

As long as you're able to login if your internet connection drops I've found you can still ride around in the environment though it is understandably empty of any other riders. Doesn't help you though if it's crashing etc!

Mid race everyone around me just vanished, the race is no longer a race when that happens. :(

What do you do @BennyC ?

Management Accountant - 7:30AM - 4:30PM with a 4PM finish on a Friday. Suits me as I find the mornings to be more productive. I've only a short 15 minute commute and miss any rush-hour traffic too.

Value the fact I can leave home at 7AM, be in early, out the door on time more often than not and home by 10 to 5. It's great in the summer for evening rides :)

I regularly see messages from club members in the Whatsapp group stuck in London because trains are cancelled. That's not the life for me! :D

Oh, you're one those guys :p Fair play on the flexibility, sounds good. My flexibility is great for my job, but my kids dictate when I ride ha

Top tip: get your kids into biking - my two girls are both bike nuts, both local club members, pair of speed demons, 8yrs and 12 yrs.

No problem for my 9 & 12 yr old, but the 3yr old is the issue :P

My 12yr old and I built him a MTB, which is sweet as. Carbon frame build at just over 10kg!

On later? I'm tempted although quite low on quality sleep/rest the last two nights so a B race is going to really kick my head in. Figuring a Zwift session tonight and then take it easy until the weekend when I've got my first 'outside' club ride for 6-7 weeks planned. Want to be as fresh as possible, even with the lack of sleep lol

So unproductive! But agreed, working in IT & getting home to find out my laptop had issues and wouldn't run zwift = stressed & annoyed for 3 days last week until I fixed it! I have the patience of a saint when at work (& being paid) so don't tend to get too stressed, but being at home it's a different story lol!

Tell me about it. They don't seem to do clipless pedals in infant sizing. I just can't figure it out. Surely at nearing 6 weeks old he's ready to start cycling?

I might do the 11.9 mile TT at 7.10pm. Cat B.

Might be too early for me, as depending on baby will depend when dinner is consumed and I hate to ride less than 30-40 mins after food! I'm not usually home from work until 5.30 - 6 ish :o
