The Intel Arc owners thread

If you want to watch several minutes of MLID crying about b580, crying that reviewers like the card, crying because it's better value than amd and crying because he was wrong

Its cheaper than the 7600 XT, its not cheaper than the 7600 nor is it cheaper than the 4060.

It has 12GB, it has that going for it, it still has driver issues, it uses quite a lot of power, its not an Nvidia card so i do find it a little odd for them to be as positive as they are about it in terms of value.

At the same price as the 4060 and about 5% higher performance it technically is better value, but its not worthy of the overhyped reception it got, he has a point. I mean, are we saying Intel are Nvidia now? Do we need another GPU vendor with over priced cards?

It's cheaper than the 7600 and 4060 where I am, maybe your EU prices just suck

It's also 11% faster than the 4060 at 1440p in Raster and RT and 19% faster than the 7600 in Raster and 50% faster than the 7600 in Ray Tracing

It could also be the other way round to be fair. Maybe the prices in your country on the 7600 and 4060 suck? :p

The 4060 and 4060 Ti are both cheaper in the UK than in the US, for example. But the B580 and RX 7600 are a bit more expensive. The 4060 Ti is priced low enough in the UK to be a consideration vs the B580.

Nvidia rtx4060: 252 pounds

Our government help themselves to 20% on top of pretty much anything we buy, this after taxing our income in 2 different ways, after than there is a 4'th form of government tax which is demanded locally, it doesn't end there... tax 5 is when they panelise you for heating your home and cooking food.... if you die they tax your beneficiaries for your demise, just to let you know that you can't even escape tax by death.

You from the US? Is the independence revolution still on going? you're right and i'd like to join you.

Taxes are no better in America, each state is different and even then... the deceptive kicker is that their taxes come after the fact.
And worse, they need to calculate it themselves or pay someone to do it for them.

Grass ain't greener on the other side.

For the 0.01% of users this would affect...
After Cyberpunk's latest game update, I found that I was unable to start the game on my A770 with an error about RT failing to initialize.
My first thought was to blame Intel's drivers, but after numerous uninstalls/re-installs the issue persisted.

If you have this error, disable your second GPU*. :D
I hadn't changed Intel drivers, or Nvidia drivers, only updated the game. I guess they introduced some shenanigans, and it was trying to use my Tesla P40 for something.
On a side note, there has been a small but persistent performance bump to Cyberpunk, and 3DMark Steel Nomad/Speed Way on my PC, using the latest driver from the weekend. A few others on Reddit had also noted performance increase in some games.

*Obviously don't disable the second GPU if this is what's outputting to your display.

That error has happened before on Nvidia GPUs, can't remember if it was this game but I do know there have been games where RT can't be enabled because the game is detecting the iGPU from the CPU and the iGPU had to be disabled for RT to work
