The Intel Quadcore Database

Primed for 5hours before, 1.4v @ 3.6ghz. Loads temps peaked at 50c I think.

Girlfriend started using firefox and the PC BSOD.

Any ideas? Seems to get 4-5hours prime then BSOD but Im not sure whether its due to someone using firefox or something else? Just strange how I can get near 6hrs on a lowly 3.6ghz then it dies on me!

I've just got a quad and thought I'd try my hand at overclocking it. It's been a while as the last thing I overclocked was an Athlon 1800 XP !

After doing much reading around (these forums in particular) I've managed to get it to 3.2 and it's been running for the last 3 days with no problems at all. That's been mainly gaming (Crysis, TF2, STALKER and C&C3) and it's chucking everything around nicely.

However, when I run Prime 95 one of the workthreads always stops after about 1 minute. The other 3 keep going to completion, no problem, but this one that stops is niggling at me. Does this mean one of my cores is failing to cope or is it something less serious ?

Temps are absolutely fine btw, Idles at 28,28,38,38 and under prime 48,48,56,56.

What size cycle is it on? and what are you running your RAM at?

Would guess its a RAM issue, try dropping your RAM timmings (if you have done this! Raise you NB volts)

Ram timings are at 5-5-5-23
Prime is running small FFT's

I'm going to try another PSU today, Corsair 520w as my PC turned off yesterday then turned itself back on after 10seconds, did it again this morning when I turned all the fans down!

Maybe because you havn't proven it stable? SuperPI is NOT a test of stability. Read the OP!

Its been running for 4 months solid not 8 hours

I,m gonna loose 8 hours production argh !!!!!

might as well set the target at 4.2 just to keep 1st in reach of people :D
then push it if someone comes close.
d/lin now

One thing tho core temp doesnt show minus temps it shows me always at 3 12 3 12 load or not.

Got it stable yet? Don't worry too much about the temps but I will have to quote what it shows I'm afraid.

Gonna be updating later;)
