***The iOS 5 Thread***

They still have the odd problem. I'm not sure anyone will register you any more due to Apple shutting accounts down who register UDIDs.

They will only be doing that at people who are marketing themselves on websites, youtube and making a profit.

Have emailed a few of you who offered them in early post but no ones got back to me yet.

Email lock screen notification has been in since beta 1. Settings > Notifications, make sure 'Mail' is in the top section (named 'In Notification Centre'), if not then hit edit and drag it up there. Tap on mail, then make sure 'View in lock screen' is on.

Awesome, thanks!

thanks for that.

Just found the weather widget in there too. Can't get that to show up in the lock screen though ?

anyone suffering really bad battery drain with iOS 5? It's driving me nuts, my iPhone 4 used to last a couple of days with very light use. Im currently running a test with no apps running (just iOS 5) and its down to 58% charge since 7:30am.

My battery has been fine on iOS 5 beta 4 and beta 5, not much difference. Getting 2-3 days at least with moderate use as I'd expect.

I still haven't had any issues with it!

Beta 6 is out on August 17th apparently too. I suppose the GM could be after that!

Do you have anything disabled like push notifications/location services? Do you have the 'usual' apps like Facebook/twitter etc - just want to try and gauge how similar our usage patterns are... I think it has somehow developed a fault but I am unsure what Apple's policy is re iOS 5 and warranty? It's a legit install.

Facebook, Twitter, 2 emails on sync (iCloud and Gmail). No location services that don't run without me telling them to that I know of.

Just do a full restore (and setup as a new phone if the backup method doesn't work), unless you're really hammering the phone there is no way your battery shop drop that fast.

Beta 5 is destroying my battery on iP4. Never had a battery issue from a beta before, but this one takes the gold winners medal.
