No more bluetooth problems :) All running very smoothly :) It seems like beta 5 is a big improvement to beta 4 - It's all running very fast :)

Offically, no. Apple state in their terms that you can't downgrade to iOS 4. However, there are sites that tell you how to do it. Unfortunately, this didnt work for me so I'm stuck on iOS 5... but it seems to have sorted itself out.

oh **** ive so so so messed up
my phone is in a constant loop
gets so far in the restore and comes up with an error 1 message, im told via the net error 1 is because its not in dfu mode, so i put in into dfu mode, gets about 3/4 the way through the restore and i get the message again.
ive used tiny umbrealla to fix recovery but still nothing AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!

Make sure TinyUmbrella doesn't take stuff from Cydia's servers and just click restore in iTunes using beta 5. Should restore no problem. I've been stuck in the recovery loop before and had to just restore the phone using Apples servers.

right ive managed to restore to beta 5 Pheeeew !
has anyone here made a successful restore back to ios 4 ?

what happens next time the beta is updated ?
will i have to use that ? im running without dev account and a dev registering my udid

I restored mine a couple of weeks back. Its just a case of downloading the proper version of iTunes available now and then restoring the phone then applying your backup (The backup has to be one from 4.3.x and not ios5 as that wont work). You may have to put your iPhone in DFU mode to do so and also downgrade your library so it works again with the older iTunes but they are both very simple to do.

right, im in a situ were im glad i stopped as it suddenly dawned on me i could end up bricking my phone.
ive managed to downgrade back to non beta itunes, but now i plug my phone into itunes and it tells me i cant use itunes with this phone because of ios5 being installed on it.
ok
but if i enter my phone into dfu mode ( not yet done this ) i could potentially end up with a phone stuck between 4.3.3 and ios5.

When you say 4.3.3 do you mean 4.3.5 because that is where you looking at downgrading to. I'm fairly sure you won't be able to go back to 4.3.3 unless you have the SHSH saved.

I would just put it into DFU mode and try it. Worst that will happen is that you'll need to restore the phone to beta 5 again.

marky to the rescue AGAIN ! thanks

but my thinking is

if i do go into dfu mode and something fails an im stuck with connect to itunes ( like yesterday ) will i be ok installing beta 5 itunes and restoring back to ios 5 b5 ?
also how do i know that dfu mode will work and itunes will recognise me ? at the moment iphones pluged in but wont recognise ( as mentioned above )

also

dev accounts with apple, does it bill your itunes account or do you pay via cc card / debit card ?

You should be find installing beta iTunes and restoring to beta 5 in DFU mode. When you go into DFU mode and you're connected, iTunes normally comes up with "Your phone is in recovery mode" or something of that sort.

I've been stuck in a loop a few times in the past, but I've always been able to do a restore to the latest OS.

I can't help you with the Developer account, however I would imagine it would give you the choice of using the card connected to your Apple account or the choice of changing the card details.

Its almost impossible to brick your phone via updating, the bootrom is never written during updates etc so DFU will always be available to get you up and running again.

Your developer account payment does not come from your iTunes account funding.
