Thanks for link in sig:) I am downloading the iphone 4 GSM is that the one i need or do i need the cdma.


Also can you just update or do you have to restore the phone?

It's not an update, you have to write the new firmware then restore from backup if you want. I did a fresh install.

Go into location services and turn off time zone. They haven't fixed the bug where it's constantly checking your time zone.
 
Guys, I'm struggling getting my @me.com mail to sync with Windows Live Mail, any pointers? Keeps telling me that my log in details are incorrect and they're not. I followed the guide on Apple's site.

Sorry, don't understand what your trying to do? Your @me.com is the iCloud credentials.......

i hate to be a numpty but could any one point me too or quickly explain how i install iO5 on my iP4 :) my googling is failing me massively. Oh and do i need to back it up or something like that ? :)

You mean your using Windows Live Mail to send/receive email? It should work but Apple may not have enabled it yet for clients. You may only be able to use it from www.iCloud.com / mail. Its a web mail client.

1) Backup in iTunes.
2) Get iOS 5 GM build for your model of iPhone.
3) Restore in iTunes with your new firmware.

Now moving all my mail across.

Silly question, but I take it I will have my @me address as long as I have an iCloud account?

Finally, what's the best way of creating and sorting folders/rules etc.

ok so i have downloaded it from your site. plugged it in and it said it backed it up. so do i now just click restore and it will ask me to point it to the .ipsw file ?

being an utter noob here :)

Good question. @me address is your iCloud account! Not sure about sorting folders rules this is up to you.
