1) Backup in iTunes.
2) Get iOS 5 GM build for your model of iPhone.
3) Restore in iTunes with your new firmware.

:D

Tried this with two different downloads, from the site in your sig, and it bricked my iPhone 4 twice :(

Restored to 4.3.5, but wondering if I'm doing something wrong...?

Using it at the moment and iMessage is pretty good, other than that there isn't much to talk about unless you have an iPad. Notifications ain't bad but stolen from the jailbroken version.

holy crap thats brilliant

I updated both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 and it was working fine but now when I try to download anything from the App Store it says something like "Can't log in to your Apple ID either your password was wrong or the account doesnt exist" which has never happened to me before. Anyone else getting this?

Aha! I believe that I shall don the dunce's cap for missing that bit!

Thanks for the link, will give it a go when I get home from work, this evening :)

At which point did it brick?

After iTunes had wiped the old software, but before installing the new :(

Clearly it didn't brick if its still working

Really gets on my **** about brick this brick that. If its bricked it ****** end of.

Rant over :(

I apologise profusely for my, apparant, incorrect use of terminology following my frustrations at a failed software upgrade which, twice, rendered my phone unusable and "useless as a brick" until I managed to resolve the issue through forcing DFU mode and a restore to previous software.

Or, alternatively, "chill, bro"

:)

No.. What Divaboy is on about is that when people say 'bricked' people use this as something when their device doesn't work.

What 'bricked' means is when your device is totally an utterly ******! no screen, won't turn on, no charge e.t.c just a blank screen dead utterly dead.

Tried the GM last night, didnt work, guessing as im using non beta iTunes. Oh well, guess ill just wait for proper release. Must be close now surely.

Does Siri work over Bluetooth in cars for handfree?

I know you'll be able to make/recieve calls and have the sound come from car speakers but what about using the cars bluetooth to communicate with Siri or getting siri to read incoming texts or emails via the cars bluetooth kit...?

Based on the information we've had, it you can access the current voice control system using a given accessory you'll be able to access siri.
