***The iOS 5 Thread***

Ran it late last night and only had to retry the update a few times before it worked, but it seems to of thought that I dont sync any music... So its got all my apps etc etc, but no music or videos :/.

Gonna have to wait till this evening to sync it all again :/

did my update last night and my iphone 4 turned into a 4S! (screw the camera and processor, oh and the novetly of siri wont last a week :D )

on a serious note i do think safari runs a lot quicker/smoother and some other very nice additions

this will easily last me till the 5 release

With icloud, my backup took around 3 hours to complete. This is with an ipod with around 4gb usage, so i thought everything, music etc is also backed up

When I go into manage storage it says backups - 291.9mb? If it was only 291mb, it should have completed the backup less than 5 minutes (1mb/sec upload)

but again imagine the load on apples servers where everyone is backing up for the first time

I updated last night and had a play with it this morning. All the new bits are working, and I've not lost any data. I really like the new lock screen and the notifications drop-down. This is on my 3GS personal phone, and I don't think I'll bother with the premium of upgrading the hardware side as this had added some really nice functionality.

One thing I really wanted was the ability to print from iPhone Safari or Mail to my printer via the airport, like my laptop does. Seems there's still no option for it :(

I got it through on my iPhone 4 last night after much frustration. I got the 3200 error after it had wiped my iPhone in preparation for the restore, and I seemed to have got myself into a position of flux whereby it wouldn't restore without trying to install iOS 5 first, thus 3200 errors all over the place. If I hadn’t of persevered, I'd of had a wiped iPhone which wasn't much use to me for my day at work today!

That said, first impressions are good, particularly Safari which seems faster and easier to navigate using touch/double tap gestures etc. Good Technology, which my company use for Corporate Exchange Email also runs much, much better.

I'm going to leave the upgrade for the iPad2 until much later, perhaps mid-next week to let things calm down because I was right at the end of my tether last night.
