The iOS11 Thread

The more I use my 12.9" iPad (running 11.0.1), the more glitches I seem to run into....

  • Screen rotating correctly, but the dock remaining in the previous position
  • Folders with only one page have multiple blank pages you can swipe through
  • AppStore gets stuck at a blank loading screen
  • Apps not updating unless I manually refresh the AppStore update page
  • Safari seemingly freezing on certain pages (amazon seems to be common)
  • Multitasking/control centre not appearing a good 1-2 seconds after double tapping the home button
  • When selecting an album in the Music app, it shifts it 1/2 off the screen to the left. Have to swipe back and back into the album for it to correct itself
  • Graphical glitches when entering and exiting apps (weird black box in the top left, jagged edges around folders etc)
  • News articles in the notification centre have massive gaps and look to spaced out (looks fine on my 9.7" iPad)
  • Random lagginess pretty much everywhere... scrolling through photos, browsing tabs in Safari, scrolling between open apps, opening and closing apps...)
  • News articles seem to be overly sensitive in the notification screen. Every time I scroll through them, it’ll select one and load up the news app
Feels like I’ve downgraded! :mad:

Rebooted.
Forced restarts.
Reset locations.
Complete erase and reinstall/restore.

No further forward.

Also why in the location both devices are sharing location. If I pick iPhone, iPad uses that supposedly but if I pick iPhone, iPad uses that. :s

I cannot get either device to use their own.

Well the last few days I’ve noticed with my 6s that it’s starting to stutter, certain apps will open but crash and cause the phone to lock up for about 30 secs.

Restarted my phone a few times but after a few hrs it just slows down :/.

So much for the faster and smoother phone I had lol.

With apps, I do realise that some haven’t updated to the latest OS.
 
You’re not missing much even if you don’t have any bugs with he update, it wouldn’t bother me going back for a while, very much incremental updates rather than big ones.
 
The vast majority of devices will be fine, considering how locked down iOS generally is, it's strange there are such problems.

My 6s+ is pretty much perfect after both recent updates.
 
My iphone 7 was loosing battery like crazy and like mentioned here before, it stayed on 1% for over 3hrs...

I drained it completely until it switched off and it helped to reset the battery (also like advised here:) ). Now seems to be much better, must be something with indicator/battery readings with the new ios, that is different to how it was before.

Wow over reaction much??

It’s not extremely bugged, yes there are a few bugs and my 6s isn’t as fast as it was on the previous os. And the battery doesn’t last as long as I would like it to but then I realise the 6s is now 2 yrs old so will start slowing down.

Your 6 is ancient in comparison to mine, it’s going to run like a dog till you upgrade to a newer model.

But I like the OS, some nice changes made.
