Android as an OS doesn't appeal to me.
I'd rather use an old Symbian phone before I use a Windows phone.

And most importantly, I like iOS. It just works with minimal faff. That's why I don't look at the other brands. They have nothing worth looking at.

Sad that you really don't know what is out there. I would argue as would many pundits and industry observers that Android is now actually ahead of iOS which is currently falling behind.

It's like the old OS X Windows argument. Even on MR forum many hardened Apple fans are now admitting that Windows 10 is equally as good if not better than MacOS. Things change and it never hurts to keep current.

I run both OS's and really like both but am concerned by the lack of interest Apple is currently showing in its computer division.

I have a Windows phone at work and currently in the process of switching them to Android Samsung S6 handsets. I know what's out there, I just don't like the android OS and I prefer iOS. I like technology so I like to read about the new handsets (just read an article on the Pixel C and Pixel XL) so to assume It's sad that I don't know whats out there isn't really true.

Is it really hard to accept that someone prefers one system to another?

I find it hard to differentiate between iOS and Android these days as they both pretty much do the same things, so would be interested to know why you prefer one to the other that's all.

There are so many urban myths around products such as these, most of which don't stand up to scrutiny.

the reason which I prefer iOS?

I prefer the GUI
I like that it syncs to my iPad
I like the speed of the system
I like how easily I am able to facetime my partner whilst she is working away
I like that updates are simple - none of this waiting for a carrier or manufacturer to release an update.
I really like that if my phone is faulty I can walk into an apple store and swap my phone out. No having to send my phone away for a week or two. (I've had 2 faulty iPhones which i just walked into the store without appointment and walked out with brand new handsets each time)
I prefer iOS when it comes to using my phone as an audio-player and how Apple Music is built seamlessly into the iPod app.

They are just the reasons on the top of my head. But truthfully - and I say this as someone who works in IT - I just prefer iOS. Just like how I prefer Windows and Linux to OSX.

I don't need someone who thinks they know better than me telling me what I should look at or purchase. Until Android has a killer feature, it's just not worth switching.

I'm in the same camp. FOr years I've had an Android device and an iOS device at the same time at all times. One for business and one for pleasure. I swap the sims around from time to time to use one or the other for each job. I have recently dropped the Android device though (Nexus 6P) as I no longer need two phones and being forced to choose between the two, iOS is just better for me.
My main reasons:

Apps and games are just better on iOS. They run smoother, faster, and are just nicer to use on iOS.
Watch. The Apple watch is streets ahead of Andorid Wear (I had an LG Urbane and a Moto 360) in terms of usage and functionality.
Integration. Having the ability to fire up a mobile hotspot directly from my Mac without having to first get the phone out of my pocket and turn on mobile hotspot is a really, really useful feature for me. Same deal from my iPad. Just go to WiFi, tell it to turn my iPhone hotspot on and I'm good to go.
Stability. I reboot my iPhone maybe... actually I can't remember when the last time was it got rebooted. Probably for the iOS 10 upgrade but before that I have no idea. My Nexus 6P would get rebooted every few days when it started to get slow or an app crashed. Same with my Note 4 (which was just a bloody terrible phone actually), and my HTC One M7 before that.

The things I miss about Android are the ability customise my homescreen, and the swipe keyboards (the 3rd part keyboards on iOS don't seem to integrate too well to be honest).

I prefer the GUI

Looking pretty dated these days IMO!

I like that it syncs to my iPad

Dependant on owning an iPad

I like the speed of the system

Is Android any slower?

I like how easily I am able to facetime my partner whilst she is working away

To limiting, dependant on the other party having an Apple product.

I would agree with that.

That's certainly not everyones experience of Apple service.

I wasn't aware anyone had told you what you should purchase?

It's functional and I can quickly do what I need. That to me is a good GUI. I don't need the level of customisation Android offers.

Dependant on owning an iPad
Which I do so that is a benefit to me. I wouldn't have said it if it wasn't a benefit.

Is Android any slower?
My friends' S7 and S7E don't feel as snappy as my iPhone 7. I'm not saying they're slow, btw.

Which again, in my case is not an issue. Seeing as we both have an iPhone or iPad. Though she wants my old iPhone 6 as she is fed up of her Xperia Z5.

That's certainly not everyones experience of Apple service.
But it's my experience and that's what matters. What someone else experiences is of no use to me. My experience with Apple when it comes to customer service is 2nd to no one.

I wasn't aware anyone had told you what you should purchase?

Intentional or not but you seem to have an attitude of knowing better than everyone in this thread. I can't help but feel you believe you are talking down to us iPhone users from a position of superiority because you assume that you know better.

You do realise I have an iPhone? I am however not a fan of sycophancy.

I've had my iPhone 7 128GB Jet black for 2 weeks now, Getting on ok with it. Coming from a S4 it's very different, Even to my last iPhone which was a 3GS (Yes that long ago :p ) it's different but easy to use.

Vodafone well and truly screwed up the contract, It was supposed to be £48 a month for 24 months with no upfront cost for phone (inc loads of mins and data etc)

They sent me the phone and have put me on a 12 month sim only contract for £15 per month with 1k mins, unl tx & 1GB internet.
I've received the contract in black & white stating this, It says the same in myvodafone app and they took the first £15 direct debit a few days ago.

24 x £48 = £1152
12 x £15 = £180

lol  :D

Vodafone are so good like this. Never known a company mess up so much and give away money/phones.

Very.co.uk have royally ****ed me over, returned my HTC 10 to them and got it refunded...only to find out 2 weeks later they've decided to charge me again and send my phone into repair. Even though I didnt ask for it, since its out of their 28 day return window yet they had no issue initally refunding me and ive returned an item for a refund outside of that window before no problem...are they erm allowed to do that?
I planned to use the refund to cover majority of my iPhone.

Phoned them up basically said they cant do much since its gone in for repair although I've had no info on when im getting it back or any info track it.

Gonna phone up tomorrow, its been a week now since I was notified.

Plus now I've got an email to say my iPhone 7 which wasnt due until November has been dispatched so they want me to basically pay for the iPhone and my HTC at the same time - NOPE.

So thinking of sending my iphone back when it arrives, whilst I try and deal with the HTC mess in the meantime hopefully trying to get a refund otherwise I guess I'll have to take a loss and sell it whenever they decide to return it to me.

Sorry for the vent lmao.

Leading me too:
Been looking at the Upgrade programme mainly because of the 0% 20 month payment plan, judging from the website you have to do this instore and cannot be done online? Is Stock still hard to come by instore?

dropped and smashed my Iphone7 Plus on Saturday Night... Phoned up sunday afternoon and had a new one monday morning. Awesome work EE !

My iPhone 7 has just gone faulty. I now have no sound at all. I've tried a reset but still nothing. I get the occasional pop but nothing else, I've tried ring tones, YouTube app, music app. It was working fine then a pop and nothing since, I've been using it a fair bit this evening as I'm in a hotel. Annoyingly there is an Apple Store over the road but I won't have time to go there tomorrow and my nearest store is a 30-40 minute drive and parking is expensive.

Also I can now hear coil whine from mine in dead silence with my ear to the back, not that would bother me.

Edit - I just made a phone call and the audio worked, tried loudspeaker and that also worked. After ending the call the sounds now working again, music works and notifications are back.

The so called 'short term right to reject goods' and be entitled to a refund is 30 days under the Consumer Rights Act. After that period then the retailer can send the goods for repair if they so choose. If you were just returning the goods because you didn't like them the period is 14 days and the goods must be returned unused and in the same packaging. You also have to inform the company you are rejecting the goods as soon as possible after taking delivery. The HTC is a good phone, why not keep it?

I'm very impressed by the battery life, especially on the non-plus! I'm easily managing two days usage (7am day one to 7pm day two). The only issue I've found is the lightning headphones seem to easily disconnect and stop playing. Anyone else had any issues with the headphones?

That bit I'm not sure about.. you're outside of any statutory rights (which are much flimsier than most people think) but I'm surprised they can charge you without your permission? Don't they need some sort of authorisation to do that or did you agree to a shadow being held on your card?

why? People buy Android devices for the freedom of usage it gives, why would they all flock to ios?

If you want a NEW phone it's either iPhone or Pixel and why would you buy a Pixel for the same price as an iphone.

The whole Note thing is proper karma for Samsung's scummy business practices IMO.
