The last game you completed, and rating (Console Edition)

Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Took me a while because of its length but I was able to play it in and around other things it was nice to be able to dip in and out. Fantastic game with an amazing story and great characters. Wasn’t sure about the turn based combat at first but I grew to liking it a lot. Ichiban is great! They took a risk moving away from their main character but it paid off totally. I was under levelled at times but the game knows this will happen so there are cool places to go and grind out a few levels if you need to. Big quick rewards there if you’re willing to replay them a few times. I ended up around level 60 at the end same as the last few bosses.

AC Valhalla.

5/10

Really enjoyed the pervious two which I believe I got platinum.

Got my settlement to level 6. Fished the hidden ones quest line and fished the asgard quest line so I'm calling it finished.

Combat is pap doesn't feel as involved as the pervious two and finishing moves are horrible.

Such a shame as this could have been pretty brutal. Hammers, axes and long swords.

The game also leaned way to hard into the store this time it felt like the real world items were useless and boring.

Fantastic game. I really liked the characters “mini” side quest/stories when you interact with them at the bar. Adachi’s was my favourite I think. Actually laughed out loud a couple of times.

Edit. Both Adachi and Ichiban were my favourite characters.
But honestly they were all great.(even the bad guys, like Tendo)

Adachi easily deserves his own game:D

I tried Yakuza: Like a Dragon but it just felt like endless cut scenes and dialogue. Maybe I should have stuck it out a bit longer..

TBH, I'm a big fan of Yakuza, grew up with the series but those games kinda are like that and definitely won't be everyone's cup of tea. Pretty heavy on the story and dialogue and rather quirky old-school gameplay, lots of minigames etc.

Like a Dragon is especially goofy, even for the series' standards and takes a bit to get going.

It's worth sticking with, though. I was sceptical myself, wasn't sure what to make of the transition into turn-based combat and the ridiculous premise behind it but the game is just stupid fun and feels unique compared to most of what's being released today. Very good characters and a solid story as well, as per usual with the series.

A couple of low points, like the "dungeons" and some story bits but nothing too serious.

Playing Yakuza Kiwami 2 now and it’s great so far. I am relatively new to the series but I am already a big fan and will work my way through all of them and the spin-offs.

Yakuza Kiwami 2. So good. Didn’t think they’d make a better game than the first but I loved it. Mad finale!

Think I am going to do Lost Judgment next before I move on to Yakuza 3.

Can’t believe I’ve ignored these games for so long.

Goat Simulator 3 - well main story/unlocks anyway

Took around 12.5 hours over 3 days to complete, was playing with my daughter local co-op and was super fun and amusing throughout

9/10 and still plenty of fun to be had finding all the Trophies etc etc

Stray (PS5)

Great game and a nice length, guessing about 5-6hrs. I was going to try platinum it, but I dislike speed run trophies and that can’t catch me trophy, seriously that trophy sucks, pure pot luck. Gave up after trying that more than 20 times.

The actual game setting and story and originality makes it a really good game though.

8/10

A Plague Tale Requiem. Just brilliant. Framerate wasn’t an issue in the end since they patched it so soon after release. It’s not 60 but into the 40’s and mostly solid. Amazing story, a beautiful game and well acted out. If you hate rats don’t play it lol

I finished Last Hero of Nostalgia on xbox series x. I've got a few games to go with next - I've started Cult of the Lamb on ps5 but I'm not yet feeling its my type of game yet. I'm enjoying gunfire reborn reborn still on gamepass and it's just been updated with a new mode. I've bought Valkarie Elysium on psn in the sale so I'm looking forward to that.
