The last game you completed, and rating (Console Edition)

Deathloop - 0/5

Excellent graphics and the idea and execution of the game should've been superb but I found it mind numbingly boring, the stealth element didn't work at all and I'm not prepared to give a game which has as many bugs as this after a year a single point.

Lost count of the amount of times I had to exit to dashboard because the X or O buttons wouldn't register and half of the trophies appear to be broken too. Arkane Studios are now on my list of developers to avoid.

I've been struggling to finish it and I got it at launch, premise is good but I've done each boss so to speak and been doing it different ways to do the loop and doesn't seem to ever be correct order.

Premise is good like you say I've had bugs on ps5 too trophies being one and guns not being able to be picked up etc

For me there over rated as a studio anyway Prey was fab everything else has just been ok

It took a while for Deathloop to come alive for me, I restarted it a couple of times, ended up loving it!
I must have been lucky. Other than a few menu crashes using the touch bar on the pad, it was a trouble free experience for me.

I also loved it, but I do recognise you need to pay attention - it’s not just a mindless shooter.

I suspect those who struggle with completing a perfect loop have missed steps in the main story to make sure people are where they need to be to achieve the perfect loop.

There’s also a couple of red herrings where missions will return a status of “fail” on notification system because you didn’t kill them in a certain way, but the person being dead still counts towards reaching the endgame.

I thoroughly enjoyed Deathloop, took a moment for it to fully "click" but once it did I had great fun and started to worry less about dying or restarting the loop; it's only by going through loops over and over again that you realise how much there is to do. Had no crashes or stability issues either and that was quite soon after launch, so maybe it's a recent update that's brought in some issues.

Finally finished FF7 Remake at 37 Hours, what a fantastic game, looking forward to 15 in the summer then part 2 in the winter
i tried replaying this last year when it was ftp. couldnt get into it and quit after about an hour.
shame as i loved the original game on the play station.

Just finished the Last of Us Part 2. Visually stunning I'm lucky enough to have a PS5 so the 60FPS mode is greatly appreciated. Felt like the pacing with the story at times was erratic but the core gameplay was good and the AI were very well done especially if you try and go the stealth route with AI noticing if an assailant had been taken down and everyone is alerted and trying to flush you out. Was very impressed with that.

I feel like the animations are leagues ahead of other titles - at times you forget you are playing a game even the better half had commented what is that you're watching and was surprised when I told her that I was playing a game.

For me personally I'm happy with the way that the story transpired I know this is marmite across the gaming world I would heartily recommend this to anyone that has played the first game especially since it's on PSN at the moment for a very reasonable £8 odd.

Would give the game a solid 8.8/10 it was one of those games once you have finished them you struggle on what to play next!

Shadow of the Tomb Raider 7/10

As a long time TR fan, I enjoyed the lore, settings and suchlike but I felt the gameplay was often padded out with needless climbing sections that became a bit of a chore.

It’s the 2nd time I have played through this game since 2019 and I started to get a little bored 2/3 through even through sufficient time had passed for me to forget a lot of the game content.

Im not sure if it’s the rehash of the TR remake formula that’s getting stale after 3 games l, or just me being more picky these days but I wanted to like this game more than I did.

Not a bad game, but didn’t leave me wanting more. Completed 85% of the game by the end, and just deleted it after completing the main story.

Death stranding - 9/10

Played it on PC, have put off playing it again since I remember it being such a time sink. Saw that it was free with my PS sub and fancied trying the directors cut. Well, got addicted all over again and have flown through it. I know it’s a marmite game, but I love what it does and that it’s really unique as a concept. It’s also absolutely stunning to behold and I understood it all more this time round too. Will keep playing the endgame for a bit.

God of War: Ragnarok - 9/10

A worthy sequel to the God of War 2018 title. Slick, polished and cinematic. Great visuals, audio and voice acting. Builds on the story of the previous game, with some emotional twists & turns that perhaps don't quite hit the heights of its predecessor. It's basically more of the same, so if you liked the last GoW you'll almost certainly going to revel in this one.
I found Ragnarok to be marginally less difficult than GoW 2018, or at least the optional side content/bosses were. However, for some reason the combat didn't feel as "meaty" or impactful with the various weapons. Despite these minor flaws this game is a strong recommend from me.

Just finished Spider-Man Miles Morales. Firstly need to start off by saying that the whole Marvel universe isn't for me but after watching the free flowing gameplay and the fact it's on PS Plus thought why the hell not. Wow, really took me off guard I was expecting to give it a try for 5 mins then switch it off and delete. How wrong was I? The fast loading-times, great visuals and pacing of the story were sublime. I have to say we're treated to some amazing experiences on PS and especially the PS5 (was pleasantly surprised to see that it supported 120HZ.)

The game is butter smooth not sure if it's my age but at times I forgot the depth of the controls and was frustrated at times with me not having full control of Spider-Man and dying on a repeated basis but as the loading times are nearly instant you can't sit and fret for too long. Would urge anyone to try this if you're a PS Plus Extra subscriber wasn't expecting such quality but what a really enjoyable experience. I have to mention the little side quests, not too frustrating and all of them varied enough to keep the pace of the game going at full speed. Would give this a solid 8.2/10 and from someone who's not a fan of the Marvel universe that's high praise indeed!

been a while since i've finished a game, but jedi fallen order had lightsabers so i had to give it a go.

will give it 8/10, was enjoyable, gfx/scenery were good and enjoyed the ending, but had a few instances where the game froze for a second then recovered, not had it as obvious or for as long on any other game.
