The last game you completed, and rating.

Posted on April 21st I had just finished Elden Ring and give it 10/10.

Just finished NG+ (the only time I have ever played a game twice straight after I finished it) and loved it just as much. Even found a load of things I missed first time round but this game really does fill me with joy. I loved DS3 and Bloodborne and they are among my all time favourites but this is just a perfect game. I am seriously thinking about NG++ here but might wait until some DLC drops and do a full playthrough with that included.

Elden Ring - 8.5/10

I've just now finished this one and it was quite the journey. The game world is beautiful and vast and I'm a big fan of the find your own way approach to both the map and objectives.

The combat is brilliant fun and the sheer number of build options, weapon combinations and other ways and style of play at your disposal boggles my mind. I love how I could play more of a cosmetic first run and still get through (with great difficulty at times).

My only personal gripe is with the story telling and in my opinion the lack of it. If I hadn't used Fextralife I wouldn't have been able to complete many of the side quests. Don't get me wrong I'm not expecting The Last of Us or The Witcher but help me out here.

I loved my time with Elden Ring and after over 300hrs I'll definitely return to find and finish what I'd missed. Though the main reason is to get a chance to use the many cool weapons and build options I didn't use in my initial playthrough.

I just completed GTA IV The Ballad of Gay Tony 7/10

I completed GTA IV years ago, and the Lost and Damned expansion a year or two ago. So BOGT felt like a swansong for an open world game I've always had a soft spot for since I got it on 360 on my 18th birthday and must have put hundreds of hours into. It's probably my favourite of the series.

The story wasn't that great, the characters weren't that great. The exception is Lois who might be the most likeable GTA protagonist I've played. Very self aware about the "murdering but I've got principles" but he somehow pulls it off alongside his 'real feeling' relationships with people with his Mum and Tony.

The gameplay felt like a natural gap between GTA IV and V with varied missions, mission checkpoints trip skip etc. It felt like the developers responding to criticism about the drab nature and tone of GTA IV.

I like the revised colour palette too which changes the hue (or whatever) away from the washed out drab Liberty City in GTA IV to a vibrant colour palette. In fact, in 4K without mods the game looks fantastic for a 13-14 year old game! Admittedly the screenshot below is around sunset so the colour is a bit washed and yellow.

I might have to replay the main GTA IV story again and choose the other ending option if I can remember what I chose the first time...

gears tactics, 4/10 the graphics are great and story is alright but the lack of mission variety just killed it for me by act 3 I was so frigging bored of doing the same forced 4 side missions over and over and over and then when you finish a mission and it forces you to do 3 side missions too progress it just killed the game for me, got to act 3 mission 4 but cant finish it, too boring and just watched the ending on YouTube

Halo infinite, 7/10 its fun and very much a halo game, so if you like halo you'll like this.

Still a few bits lacking. Still no Co-op in the campaign is a big one. And the open world elements were fine but fairly innocuous. Basically just a couple different sorts of mini encounters that you kind of walk past moving from one story quest to the next. Didn't add anything, but didn't hurt the game either.

Witcher 3 the wild hunt, finally finished up the main story, 8/10, great immersive world, characters, setting, soundtrack, the music all superb, game let down slightly by the clunky movement, some repetitive quests, and combat, now onto the DLC

Finished co-op of Unravel 2 through steam remote play. 7/10

Nice little game, quite simple, very basic puzzles and platforming. I feel like the game tried to tell a story but I certainly got none of it. Enjoyed it but just barely, it was always on the verge of being boring.

Elden Ring 9/10 played it through twice on the trot and stopped halfway through my 3rd run. Have never managed to get on with the Souls games before but this was a surprise stand out for me this year, i usually get bored near the end of a game and give up on it as something shiny comes out.

Control. good graphics, good shooter, maps a bit confusing, sort of gave up with it a couple of times, but completed it, although I still have quite a few missions at the end of the game to complete .
I rate it 7/10 and I don't think I'll play through again

Supraland 9/10, what a brilliant game. First game in ages that had me staying up late to play "just another hour..".
Only played it as it was part of a Humble pack and astonishing that it was done by a single developer.
A sort of simple, humerous puzzle based FPS, though the shooting part is not really needed and the only weak point (though supposedly fixed in the DLC & sequel).
Important to play through without using a quide as all the puzzles are logical and solvable. Very satisfying when you do and often face-palming when you realise how simple it was and it took you hours!
A polished game that I thoroughly recommend (and I think free on Epic this week).

Dead Space 2 - 8/10

The first Dead Space game I've played. I really enjoyed it. My only criticism being that the FOV was too narrow.

Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. 6/10

Not quite as good as the first one. Story is a little formulaic but as a free game on EA Play, it was worth doing. Finish it in 3-4 sessions so it isn't long.

Ive never played a halo game before, is the single player bit worth playing if youve never played any of them? Thanks
