The last game you completed, and rating.

well i didnt complete it but found it amazing that the developer were still mainly clueless on a specific critical technical problem with...

The Walking Dead 1/10

no controller support (which i can live with) but game refused to start "failed to initialize direct3d" i did the usual things... made sure all my drivers were up to date...graphics drivers, directx, xbox controller drivers. One potential fix which my googling revealed was adopting compatibility mode for win 98 for this game (madness in 2016 in this day and age!) it sorta started but only played in a tiny window and refused to go fullscreen(crash)

There was a largish thread on telltale forums and dissapointingly there was not a solution presented by Telltale. Hard to diagnose as for some people it worked fine.

I think to myself...i try avoiding new games so i dont get these problems...lol because hey the game would have received a ton of patches in what the 4 years ish since it came out you would think this kind of thing would be solved. Oh will - guess i can watch it on youtube.

Crysis 3- After playing Crysis 2 in Nov / Dec (and 1 a while ago) Crysis 3 seems like a standard sequal- more of the same with little improvements.

Technically it was fine, ran great on my 4770k / 390x at 1080p (as it should tbh!)
The story was bs and I ended up not really paying attention to it and whilst the final 10% of the game's focus on " what do we use when the logical perfect machines fail...humanity" was very obvious it was quite a nice conclusion.
I never used the bow
The controls and mechanics were good- it's what kept me playing. I wish that electricity gun from Crysis 2 showed up a bit more, that was great and made a great noise.

Overall it was a fun 7 hours or so. 7/10. Not quite up to Cyris 2's standards.

AC: Syndicate

Took me about 2 weeks to get through it. Started well but wore thin towards the end. Finished the main quest line and done 2-3 quests for the ... ahem.... Lady of the Time, so to speak. Lost interest but will go back and tidy up the last few quests. Started the Ripper DLC but parked it up for the moment. Playing through Alien: Isolation first before finishing the last few quests on Syndicate and Ripper

7/10

The Witcher 3 - 9/10

Superb from start to finish in virtually every aspect, it is however slightly flawed and there was room for improvement.

1) XP from quests needed lowering by 10-20% to avoid steam rolling mobs. Initially it was about right, by about level 15+, I was always of a higher level than was ideal to cover all the quests I wanted.
2) The gear from both quests and drops needed adjusting. Most things were useless with a light combat build purely as a result of cc followed by cd being so powerful. Somewhat like D3 in this aspect.
3) One or two potions were overpowered such as Ekhidna, whilst others felt useless.
4) I encountered a game breaking bug three times whereby Geralt would float crouched above the floor. Re-loading fixed this. Acceptable at launch perhaps, not after multiple patches when I started.

Talos Principle. 8/10. Tetromino puzzles were a bit frustrating.

Excellent narrative though and quite engaging. Very cerebral which was a really nice change.

Rise of the Tomb Raider 8.5/10

Overall it is a superb addition to the reboot series and well worth getting.

Homeland 6.5/10

While quite an old game I did my first complete playthrough a couple of weeks ago and although it has negative aspects such as being too corridor for my tastes and not being that long I did see it through too the end which often does not happen.

Dishonored. 7.5/10.

Finished a stealth play through in ~30 hours, getting all runes/ bone charms etc. I think I must've only killed about 10 guards throughout the game, either accidentally or just because it was taking me too long to get through a particular area. Might try another play through killing everyone at some point in the future, but for now, I have other games on my "to play" list to get through :)

I thought the game was fun to play sneaky when you could, but it just wasn't satisfying to play the entire game that way. Sometimes it was fun to get a bit aggressive and simply add some variety to the gameplay by dropping in and getting your hands dirty. The game definitely punishes you a bit for it, but you'll have a better time that way.

Yeah, I have to say by that the end of the game I was getting a bit tired of all the waiting around the stealth-style play through requires. I also think I would have completed the game a lot quicker and had a bit more fun in parts if I'd just taken the violent approach.

Dragon Age Inquisition 9/10

Yes I know it's not exactly a new release, but my old hardware limits what I can run. I was impressed that this ran so smoothly on my old PC, even at max settings. Great story and a return to form for Bioware I think. Point knocked off for the truly terrible tactical camera though (thankfully you don't need to use it too much if you don't want to).

Life is Strange. 8.5/10

Wasn't sure about it at first but really enjoyed it overall. Some of the choices were real sods. Great writing although I wasn't that keen on the ending personally. That's just me though.

Rise of the Tomb Raider - 9.5/10 I loved the last one and the sequel didn't disappoint. Beautiful visuals and addictive gameplay, definitely a game I will complete again. Will no doubt be one of my favourite games of 2016.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - 8/10 This one was a total suprise. COJ is a great old school style shooter with a funny storyline line and nice cell shaded graphics. It was also a bargain as I got it for 70p in the Humble Bundle.

Far Cry 4

WOW. New PC and played this from start to finish. What a game. Great engine, soundtrack and gunplay. Such a good game :)

Also this was on the telly when I started playing it which helped me get right into it. I appreciated the detail of the setting that much more...

10/10

Broken sword 2: the smoking mirror, on tablet.

Kinda played these games in the completely wrong order so this is the first time I have played no.2 but really enjoyed it. I like how the Broken Sword games strike a balance between adventure and comedy, it just wouldn't be the same without Geroges voice.

8/10

Completed two on the same day: Firewatch 3/10, emperors new clothes!
Life is strange : 9/10 until the last episode, seemed so disjointed compared to all the rest, and the ending choices were just poor so drops a mark to 8/10.
