Happy to delete my account, if we're at the point where certain opinions aren't allowed anymore then I don't see the point in posting here. Sorry to disturb your echo chamber.

Great episode. One that did bug me was why did Bill think standing in the middle of the open street to use his rifle was the best spot?
Not sure but when Joel was decribjbg exactly what would happen he kind of dismissed it, only thing is he got so comfortable etc.

Nah I'm not buying it. This is radically different and they have embellished the point far too much for me.

This was a waste of time and a waste of an episode. Is nothing safe from over the top obvious stretching of pushing an agenda.

They didn't have to do this but they did. Disappointed is an understatement

Yeah was a lot more they could have done with Ellie and how foreign so many aspects of the world before was to her, etc. which was relatively rushed through, same with building the relationship between Joel, Tess, Bill and Frank and so on while some of the dinner scenes, etc. over embellished the point and dragged on about 3x longer than they needed to.

I just want to know how many garden grown strawberries did they eat? Since I have first hand experience eating own garden strawberries, I can attest to their deliciousness and would basically be there all day eating strawberries.

Great episode This had a bit of everything in it, the turning point when Joel realised his purpose and actually has some respect for Ellie, Ellie realising what's at stake as an overall picture, especially after reading the letter, Joel realising that men like him are few and far between, but they just know like some kind of sixth sense when someone like them is in front of them, hence why Bill said what he did in the letter.. They both knew from day 1, but it needed to be read by Joel for it to be affirmed.

The initial steps to Joel & Elli's story have now been shown and from here on we get to the really cool parts.

Some people think the complaints about this episode are about 2 blokes kissing - it isn't about that, well not for me anyway.

It was a beautiful episode and both actors were amazing, but a whole episode dedicated to a love story with side characters was a bit much. I hope we haven't sacrificed Joel upside down, or pushing the car through the infected town etc.

The only people who got any action in this episode was Bill and Frank :)

Not played the game(s) or watched The Walking Dead or similar.

Caught the trailer before the first episode aired and have watched the first three episodes. Really enjoying it so far and yesterday's (E3) I thought was fantastic and a great way to show their back story and lead into J&E turning up. The letter was also a pivotal point and setting the relationship and purpose going forward

Brilliant

What a great heartfelt episode, a reminder that amidst the chaos of the LOU wasteland, some people can still manage a good life - in Bills case, his life began when the world ended. Acting was spot on, the emotions felt real and I felt a tug at the heartstrings during the final dinner.

75 minutes flew by like a regular 40 minute episode of any other show, testament to the writing/direction.

:D

If this isn’t explained, the show is ruined.

Reactions: mrk
Episode 3 was brilliant. It went over so fast and it really didn't seem like 75 minutes. I enjoyed the take on Bill and Frank they did and Murray Bartlett/Nick Offerman were fantastic throughout... but, I can't help but be a little disappointed as I was expecting something different as the story of Bill in the game is different to how they've done it in the show. It's like I've been looking forward to a pizza all week and then someone hands me a burger, it's like sure both are excellent and I'll really enjoy either, but I was kinda hoping for a pizza :p

Still, the episode was excellent and they are doing such a good job with the show. It's no surprise it's already got renewed.

Was it just me or when they were looking at/picking the strawberries did anyone else notice that it looked like some whisps of the cordyseps around some of the plants? I seem to remember in the game something in the game that Frank killed himself because he got bitten and thought that they were going to have him infected like this rather than getting bitten. There were also what looked like clumps of fluffy stuff in the air at the same time so it could have been that.

I just knew when I was watching it the episode was going to **** some people off, I think that made me enjoy the episode even more.

I thought it was fantastic overall, would have been nice to have seen a bit more Joel and Ellie but that’s just being picky really. It set up their relationship really well.

Just like clockwork, the backwards male population seems to have review bombed the episode:

Is it a review bomb or just an honest example of how people actually feel about the episode?

I wouldn't score it so badly but I certainly wouldn't have given it a 10/10.

I think that there are as many "activists" scoring it 10/10 then there are people "review bombing" it as you have described.

*EDIT*
Judging by the kind of show it is and myself never have played the game I expected bill to be murdered by the "stranger" while he played the piano. I sat there expecting a club or ornament to be smashed over the back of his head this introducing"evil man" into the series. How wrong was I :D.
