The Last of Us Part II

One major thing I'm not keen on is the gunplay. Most of the guns are so unpowered barring the riffle and shotgun. You can empty an entire clip and they will still be alive.
I rarely use the guns. You can stealth most things with melee. Molotovs on groups. The guns get quite powerful when fully upgraded. I found another bench and fully upgraded the second pistol and a headshot will one shot most things - the upgrade damage increase was 85% so a big step up. I still try stealth first and some areas you can get through the whole thing without having to kill anything.

It's the dam clicking noise that gets me

My favourite part of the clickers is when they change paths trying to stealth kill them as you go around objects. As they turn left/right left again then go along to the right.

I'm still puzzled how they can detect me on Survival. I've killed runners leaving two clickers, I'm sitting still not moving and they go mental seeing me. The game told me they cannot see but this isn't what is happening, they're detecting me if they see me while not moving.

Yet on the first game on Grounded I could crawl around in front of them and I'd go undetected. I cannot do this in this version. Soon as they face me, I'm spotted.

Funny you say that as I thought it was me!

In Seattle day one when you see the two clickers and two runners I took out the runners laid in grass didn't move at all yet clicker "saw" me even though as you say they can't see apparently

Playing on moderate ive not had an issue of clickers seeing me when motionless. Might be an issue on higher difficulties?

Early on in one of the tips or may even be mentioned elsewhere, it says the clickers have some kind of echo location and may "see" you at certain directions and distance. You can't also cheese the creeping up on them unlike before.

Yeah, I was like what the hell game. :D

I've had to take the approach, always find something to hide behind and make sure all angles are covered so no runner or anything has line of sight of you. Then stealth kill them.

It reminds me of Uncharted 4 Crushing spending 5 minutes plus watching all the paths they take and patterns. It's why I love the harder difficulties, patient play, extreme stealth, observe every escape route for possibilities as well as listen to the environment incase something is hidden.

Just like the scene in the snow with Abby. The way it was setup in the open you knew it was a mass ambush before the horde came running after you.

That scene was intense.

I find it disgusting that not only did Sony pay all that money to pretty much every main gaming/news site so give them good scores. They also made their employees go out and buy multiple copies of this game so its not only the biggest selling game launch of the year, its also the biggest selling PS4 exclusive launch ever, this also doesn't include digital.:D

It's a good job ND only annoyed the so called hardcore fans, imagine if they had annoyed the casuals. Might have only sold a few copies.

You got solid proof of all that fake news?

Really finding this difficult to put down. The pacing is great, with relaxing exploration interspersed with moments of carnage or stealth.

Technically, it is a swansong for the PS4, I guess. It looks great and plays really well on my Rdr2 Pro model. It fact, after buying a new mobo and CPU to upgradey failing 10 year old PC, I have not even bothered to install any games. Just using it as a DAW now :p

Now, I must continue playing with my Jewish lesbian murder gang.

I can see why the Incels are triggered about this game... :D

I'm just blown away by this game still. I didn't think they could outdo the original but they have. It's just better in every way, admittedly partly down to the scope enabled by the hardware, but it's still a masterclass.

Just as a passive story being told it's better than 99% of the stuff on TV....but you can actually play it.

I think I'm probably approaching the end now, judging by the unlocks....already looking forward to another playthrough. A lot more options as to how you approach each section now as they're so much bigger.

Honestly feel sorry for the people that chose to spoil the game and make their mind up that they were going to hate it in advance because of some agenda they have. Their loss.

Was going to mention this earlier, Ellie's expressions when she's driving that knife in are outstanding.

When you unlock the upgraded stealth takedown, the flash in her eyes that catches in the camera as part of the animation is so intense, I don't think any medium has managed to get that level of expression out of CGI before. The animation in general is jaw-dropping.
