The Last of Us Part II

I had not read any reviews of the game. As quite frankly i was too busy enjoying it and playing it to go read them so i was quite surprised to find the very low User scores and i really dont see peoples problem with the game.

What planet are you guys living on? :D

Reviewers have come out and said:

- they weren't allowed to review the last half of the game, not even give any mention of it, nor could their score be based on it, literally only the first half of the game they could do anything with
- if they didn't get positive scores etc.

But nah keep the fingers in the ears and the rose tinted glasses on :D
Dude what are you on? :p

We are playing it ourselves and loving it, it doesn't matter what the reviews say about it, we don't care.

It's just a continuation of the first game and is just as good, I really just do not understand the hate.

Might give this a go. Is the first game worth downloading first? I generally avoid first person stuff on console as I can't get on with the controller, but the hype seems irresistible.

It was always going to sell well with its name, near perfect reviews and in the current climate. The real question is though has it done anything to advance 'woke' ideology? ramming things down peoples throats in an overt way usually leads to rejection.

The gameplay and graphics are top notch, it's the story that is causing most people to hate the game and the story will forever be linked to excessively woke themes. If it's damaging to woke ideology then smashing sales records is obviously not a good thing.

They get blacklisted.

Although tbf, sadly it's not exactly a new thing as pretty much all the triple a games/companies will do something along these lines to ensure great scores across the board but to not allow them to mention the second half of the game, oh lordy....

Source on where you have read they weren't allowed to factor into the scoring? Forbes came out and stated the embargo was that they were not allowed to talk about the second half of the game in any detail (vague references) and that is both in terms of likes and dislikes. Nothing about not being able to factor that into scoring. I don't agree with that but it's hardly new or exclusive to Sony.

First off, the review embargo itself is quite strict. While most video game embargoes contain some kind of restrictions on what you can talk about or use in video footage, this one forbids any discussion of the second half of the game and limits video footage to just three scenes.

The final 12 hours or so are completely off-limits, so the things that reviewers liked or disliked about that portion of the game can only be discussed vaguely. I understand wanting to keep spoilers out of reviews as much as possible, but this strikes me as more than a little over-the-top.

I've never put anyone on ignore on this forum but your foaming at the mouth is pushing me towards it. For somebody who has never played the game you sure have a real interest in peddling your agenda in this thread.

It will be interesting to see what the drop off will be in the next couple of weeks.

I'm not personally bothered about the story (but can see why people are agree for sure), its more how Sony and ND acted around the leaks that im more annoyed about.

I don't know anything about how they acted, as soon as Eurogamer reported leaks I made it my mission to avoid any spoilers and successfully did so.

Until I complete the game, I'd rather not know. I'll catch up on the controversy with the benefit of hindsight.

Neither game is first person. They’re both third person. And yeah for sure you need to play the first game first. Get the remaster for PS4. The graphics are still great and it’s 60fps all the way through.

I'm not going to spoil anything as im not an ass butt

On top of copy write striking and platforming the leaks (Well within there right to do when pre-release builds get out. They also did the same for anyone reporting on the leaks outside (ie saying the leaks happened and didn't show anything) of the big publication. Also trying remove the resulting memes generally trying the change the narrative.

The latter may have been (though equally may have not been) the overzealous third party company they used rather than Sony directing them to do it but still a bad look agreed.

It's third-person, but yes the first game (and the Left Behind DLC) are absolutely required first, this is very much a continuation of the story and character development rather than being a whole new thing with the same name.
