The Last of Us Part II

Yeah definitely do them in order. The story is the cornerstone of this game.

Well not really, they retconned Joel's actions in the first game to make the Fireflies seem justified, despite the fact that they were murdering terrorists that forcibly separated him from his "daughter" so that they could murder her with no guarantee whether it was in vain or not.

Played up to the part where I get rammed in the pooper.

It's starting to annoy me more but also the game has got better. It's clear they are tried every trick in the book to make players like Abby more than Joel/Elli. They had one fantastic moment in this game (airspace museum)but Ellie was just mostly runing around acting like an ungrateful spoilt brat.

Gigantor
Laura is a fantastic voice actor so no surprise there.
Improved story, cool dog, superior weapons and a lot more action.

Quite amusing when she can go full WWE mode and wreck some domes.

What part?

Oh. I thought he was literally getting destroyed at some part.

Which makes me wonder what Amy Hennig thought of the game...

I'm rather enjoying myself now. Tommy had a badass moment.

Story has become a farce. It's trying to preach to you but making you do the exact opposite. I think they forgot that they were making a linear game. This would have been much better suited to nonlinear rpg or interactive game.

After villainizing Joel for a half a game they are trying to recrate the magic with Abby and Lev.

Full on pancakes on show and getting rammed is ok in the eyes of Playstation but yet they censor the odd upskirt or butt shot.. lol

After getting shafted by Neil and then EA on her Star wars project I'm sure she's glad to be away from the "toxic" gamming industry. It's a poorer place without her. /sniff Legacy of Kain series.

And done.

Feelings? Hate it. Ellie and Joel was pooped on and thier Legacy was destroyed.

Hats off for the production value.

Would love to see how much money this game made. Divided the fan base went on sale super quick and I have never seen a game advertised so much on TV. The outlay must have been insane.

I thought the same initially, but after some time and reflection, i thought the game was amazing.

I hated the fact that Ellie became revenge driven and was totally out of character from the first, she became the 'bad guy' - not what i wanted after what we went through with her in the first game. I loved Joel as a character and can see why they killed him off, it was the entire premise of the 2nd game.

I grew to enjoy playing as Abby and thought the idea of seeing things from what we thought were the bad guys was a great way to go - i just don't know why we had to crap over 2 amazing characters to do this :( The game forced you to do things with the Ellie character (oo-er!) which i didn't want to do :(.

Have to agree about appreciating it more on reflection.

I loved the game first time round but tried to rush the 2nd half just to get back to the main cast.

However once I'd finished it and the dust had settled, it was all completely necessary for the story they wanted to tell.

I recently replayed it on PS5 and knew what to expect from the 2nd half so I embraced it more. And in turn j feel I enjoyed it more than the first play through.

I never disliked Abby's character, and appreciate her more now.

A 2nd game wasn't needed, but I feel the way they went with it was a suprise.

I'm surprised you bothered to play it given you decided you hated the story last year.

Also, divided the fan base? You mean the vocal minority who thought the game should've been made for them so started hate campaigns to let Naughty Dog know how bad the game was without ever playing it? That worked out well. Massive sales figures and multiple awards later and it's thought of as one of the games of a generation. Pretty sure Naughty Dog would've taken that all day long :o

Didn't hate Abby myself her Character was all over the show tho. From sociopath to a Joel clone. I did hate Manny. Was very pleased when Tommy Ghosted him like a boss.

The story reminds me of GOT. bloated cast so it had to start dispatching them in the quickest means possible. Probably why death had very little impact.

Finally finished it the other day - wouldn't say that I hated it, but it wasn't a patch on the first in terms of story and characters, and in no way was it GOTY imo. I had no interest in Abby or any of the characters linked to her parts of the game - felt quite bad for the pregnant woman who was killed though; the facial animation at that point was quite haunting.

I really enjoyed the flashbacks to Ellie and Joel, the 'magic' was in those bits, but the rest of the time, the game just felt quite messy and with a very sub-par story. It felt like Naughty Dog had their B team write this one...

From a technical standpoint, ND killed it - it's amazing what they got the PS4 to do, and the 60fps on the PS5 is nice, same goes for sound - everything just sounded right.

Playing through again with Save+ just to go Rambo everywhere - the combat was pretty satisfying!

A solid 10/10 for graphics, sound and gameplay. But at best, a 6/10 for the story.

This game was a masterpiece. Best game I have played in the last 5 years
Word!!!

Looks like I have a long way to go still. Only been very casually playing it. I was last on Seattle Day 2 - Ellie: The Seraphites - Ellie's following Nora, who's been taking part in gruesome events near Jackson.

Just started another play through on the PS5 with the 60FPS, wow! This looks absolutely amazing and I thought the PS4 version looked nice! I never really understood the 30/60 fps chat but my god, this is insane. When you go back to 30fps, it is just ridiculous
