The Last Of Us

Been playing this the last couple of days, first time ive played it never played it on the ps3 or even really knew what it was about tbh, loving it so for its pretty epic, really good story line and great acting and realistic emotions from the characters. Hoping i still have many hours left before i complete it.

Wow, played the first hour or os last night, it's basically like playing an interactive movie, just an amazing storyline.

The tension in the game is also truly palpable... now in the skyscraper and need to clear my first big group of infected. Died numerous times, will need to have another go tonight.

Graphics are very good but not as upgraded as I thought they would be over the PS3 version. Guess it goes to show how well the devs did in the first pllace though. Also very few jaggies so appears AA is used.

Surely that depends on how long you keep titles for. If it's a year old or so they're worth like a quid trade-in. No biggie really.

Massive exaggeration, good games are worth at least 30-40%... and more (50-70% for good single player games that you aren't going to keep playing for so many months after playing through once or twice. That all adds up, and if you don't think so then finance must not be your thing.

I'm going to hazard a guess that I'm very close to finishing, the suspense and emotion the story brings from a game point of view is truly a great unordinary experience. Really will be gutted when it's finished not been eager to play my PS4 since launch really until now. Hope online is working and worth playing too.

The part I'm at..
Ellie is undergoing surgery and Joel is trying to find her fighting off the fireflies.

Yeah that's right at the end.

Damn. I new it i even stayed up till half 12 adamant I was close and couldn't get to the end so called it a day. Doing it in Hard and haven't downgraded the difficulty been really good and by no means easy

I'm certainly enjoying the game but the gameplay is getting a little boring now so I kind of want to just speed things up a bit because the story and characters are the thing keeping me playing.

I kind of expected this which is why I never played it on PS3. However, I've very pleased I have played it because everything other than the gameplay is fantastic. The gameplay itself is really solid, but it's just not 'my' thing.

Just made it out of the sewers and heading through a town with some others. I'm guessing around 50% of the way through but will have to check.

No immediate hurry like, nothing else to play on console until the 19th.

Hard is the right difficulty with regards to balance of supplies and difficulty. On Normal (which is what I played on the PS3 as I wanted to just get through the game as time was short) you end up leaving tonnes of sugar, bindings, alcohol etc etc behind because you're full and can't craft anything more. It makes certain encounters really easy too when you've got 3 molotov's, 3 nail bombs etc.

I'm on Survivor on the PS4 play through. I like the fact I didn't have enough ways to take down all the clickers in the first major encounter in the subway and had to avoid them. Added to the suspense as I had to keep checking around to make sure I was clear.

think am nearing the end here

just picked up Ellie from the burning building and david and his "people" God dam that level was an emotional roller coaster, so am now at Salt Lake city

whats the best course of action here, am playing normal at the moment and i haven't done all the collectables, so am thinking of leaving them for a playthrough on easy just to get them and the trophies, but am i better of playing my next game on survivor and whats the deal with the + symbol i keep seeing after the difficulties

Am loving this game so much :D

Played some more of Survivor last night and man I got stuck for a while!

Section with Henry where you're separated from the others. I had nothing but a firebomb, 4 shoty shots, 3 magnum and 4 regular. With about 5 or 6 clickers it was nightmareish! There's not enough time to switch weapons! Done now, but it must have taken me 30 trys.

Yeah your gettin there mate, plenty of entertainment to come tho :)

Regarding the + difficulties i believe they allow you to replay the game with the upgrades which you had unlocked in the last playthrough. You will still have no gear but your workbench and stat upgrades persist

Also for people who have COMPLETED the game only!!!

What was the general feeling with the ending of the game?
For me it was sorta like a punch in the gut, it wasnt a happy ending, wasnt a sad ending, it was an ending based on a lie. I guess Joel became so attached to Ellie that he couldnt bare to lose her, but you did think that Ellie knew he was lying at the end.
Dem feels man, dem feels :)

Anyone else still waiting on the trade in refund from gamestop?

I posted this on page 111:

If anyone is still waiting for a refund from Game Stop it looks like you need to ask them before they'll issue one. I sent an email this morning as I still had not got one, I've just had this reply:

Hi Ben

Thank you for contacting GameStop

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this have caused you.
I also have to apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

The billing team should have gotten this sorted with PayPal, unfortunately they have had some system errors that we only heard about now.
I have therefor gotten permission of my manager to get this resolved for you.

The refund has now been processed for you and you should receive an email regarding this shortly from PayPal.

I hope this helped and again I do sincerely apologize for all the inconveniences this have caused you!

Kind Regards
Stine | GameStop

Moment later the refund was in my PayPal account.

I'll never use GameStop again, ever. Such a hassle.
