The Last Of Us

Started this last night and so far I'm very impressed, as others have mentioned the story is really immersive and keeps you hooked. Gameplay wise I love the hand to hand combat, smashing someone's head off a wall never gets old! :D

No mate. It never gets old. It still feel good to do it near the end too:D smashing someones head in is always a great thing. In games of course:)

46% in to my survivor+ play through with about 6 hours of play .... This seems pretty easy :D only had 2 spots of bother and that's the bloater at the school and the hanging upside down bit. I still managed them after a few deaths. Am avoiding combat as much as I can and using bricks and bottles to stun more now

Oh dear lol

Just finished it. Enjoyed it just as much second play through. Even though I knew all the suprises from the ps3 the story is just so well told it's still a joy to play. Never played the dlc on the ps3 so still have that to look forward to.

Currently at the bit

where you reach the hunter camp in Pittsburgh with the bookstore building being particularly infested with blokes. I remember this part being a bit tricky when I did it on the PS3 so not looking forward to it!

I do enjoy the human stealth sections though so hopefully it won't be too bad. IIRC I set it all off with a nail bomb last time but due to supplies and ammo I intend to be a bit quieter this time :D

i struggled more on normal than survivor on that bit lol i knew what was coming so just went for stealth instead of Rambo style

Haha yeah I probably made it more difficult for myself on the first playthrough as I had tonnes of ammo and supplies and headshots are so satisfying.

I'm pretty well stocked actually considering it's survivor. Got a couple of shivs and supplies to make another, 6 or 7 pistol and revolver ammo, 6 rifle ammo, 13 shotgun ammo, 6 arrows, 2 molotovs, 1 nail bomb and 2 health kits...

I'm really enjoying this especially as I never played the PS3 original. Playing at 60 fps... surely the games 30fps mode must be worse somehow than any other games at 30fps as the difference when compared is night and day. Last of Us's 30fps feels so slow and choppy and I never felt that in other games. Maybe its one of those things once you recognise it you can't go back... I don't know!

I'm finding hard a lot easier than what people were telling me. Clearly these people have never played Dark Souls or similarly difficult games :p

Hard is just equivalent to Normal in most games IMO - same as other ND titles. Survivor isn't actually that difficult. I find I let myself die sometimes because I got spotted when I could have easily survived without losing health but just lost some ammo or melee hits.

But then again I am playing it second time round so I can imagine Survivor might be considered very difficult if you don't know what's coming.

if they do make another last of us game, i hope they move onto new characters, because as far as im concerned the joel and ellie story is a closed book for me. they finished it perfectly without the need of a second game. :) i'd be happier with new characters and a different setting maybe.

Yeah I think exactly the same.

They could go anywhere with it really. Joel says in the game:

that most refugee camps have been abandoned but surely there must be 'civilised' life like Joel came from in the world elsewhere.

Also is the infection contained to just North America or did it spread centrally and to South America? Did it make it into Europe? They could do anything they want and I definitely feel the world has another story to tell.

Completed this last night.

What an incredible experience, I actually felt like I genuinely cared about the characters. ND created an emotional rollercoster! haha
