The Last Of Us

Very good game just not up to hype machine that was in full flow imo.
Agree absolutely. Very atmospheric, with incredible sound and artistic (if typically jaggy) graphics, but I regret paying full price on an impulse purchase from the online store. Should've bought a disk with some resale value, or waited for a price cut.

Still, it's been interesting to be part of a day one experience. It just reminds my why I don't usually bother on any platform. Patience always pays off for offline games.

I am also somewhat ashamed to say I've dropped down to Easy from Normal, though my enjoyment level has gone up since I did that, so maybe I'm not so ashamed. :-)

So, I finally got round to watching The Walking Dead tv show after tlou put me in the mood for it. Wow, that first episode was pretty darn good! The part at the tank was brilliant. The special effects for the zombies is really impressive for tv. So gross.

-----------

The Last of Us is creeping its way into my top 5 games of this gen. Just don't know what place it'll fit into, have to wait till I finish it. Theres still GTA5 to contend for a place to.

Metal Gear Solid 4
Red Dead
GTA4
Batman AA
Bioshock Infinite

Tbh I'm glad I had this on rental. It is a great game but just not quite as great as it has been made out to be. The story is very good but the combat mechanics leave a bit to be desired. It's also quite predictable in places.

The visuals are superb and all credit to Naughty Dog for getting something like this runing on the PS3 but there are slow downs and frame drops, At times and it does feel like it's struggling to maintain 30Fps at some points in the game.

I have been enjoying the game but it's not really one I would play through more than once it's like a movie you watch at the cinema then buy on disc when it's cheap to add to your collection.

I would give it an 8/10 from me It certainly is a great game not to be missed but it fails to live up to the huge hype machine surrounding it in my opinion.

And then you get to Season 2 and wonder if you're still watching the same show.

It turns more into a soap opera doesn't it? Thats the thing that kinda put me off getting into it.

It has peaks and troughs, midway through it gets particularly boring and stupid, but season 3 was much better so it's worth sticking with.

It never quite has the same feeling or atmosphere as the first season did though, the violence becomes almost comical to some effect, it loses its impact.

Yeah, the first season is superb and it gets off to a fantastic start, then it slowly goes down hill, and gets worse. The characters just become annoying and the pacing is extremely bad. It's not terrible but it's not even close to being as good as it could have been.

I thought the only good episode was the first. Comic isn't great either.

Read Day by Day Armageddon instead :)

I gave up with the Walking Dead, the first series was excellent then the 2nd series onwards just bored the **** out of me. The story's just got silly and some episodes you never even saw a 'walker' or they had zero encounters with them, yet it's meant to be zombie apocalypse tv show, not flippin Coronation Street. Mind you, Corry is full of walkers and zombie like acting.

the latest one was better. people actually did things and shot guns. which is the only real reason we watch it
