The Last Of Us

Finished this last night, So glad I bought a PS3 for it (going through the Uncharted series to).

Took my time with it but played 6 straight hours last night.
Agree with people about the A.I can ruin some sections of the game specially when there's clickers about but it didn't take away much of the enjoyment.

Still the best game I've played for a long while.

May give multiplayer a go later :).

OK, first things first: seriously good game.

I'm currently at 97% complete and have just noticed I have accrued 390 skill points that I haven't used/didn't know to use! I'm close to finishing this game on hard without upgrading any skills. Annoying! Been through a number of tough sections that probably would have been a little easier with upgrades.

You may want to upgrade, as i dont know if you want to play game+, im not sure that the points carry over, but the upgrades and skills do.

Multiplayer is suprisingly a breath of fresh air for me, really enjoying it and feel the tension from single player translates really well! Just made myself a medic class to help get more supplies for my clan outside of the match

Started my survivor play through, it really makes you think tactically through each encounter. On normal I always had enough ammo to get you out of trouble should it come to it, but survivor makes it interesting.

after watching the making of this game it got me wondering if there were any other games that had a video like this for a making of, can any one thing of any

There are lots. Limited Editions and Collector's Editions of games often come with behind the scenes DVDs that have similar documentary type videos. Most recent one I can think of that I bought that came with one was Tales of Graces f (but that was a while ago).

I really want to see the Making Of, but I'm loathed to buy the season pass when I'm not really that interested in the multiplayer DLC. Hopefully they make it available to buy on its own via the PS Store, it looks like a lot of effort's gone into it so I don't mind paying a little bit for it.

So upset that it's a PS3 exclusive :(
What I'd suggest is you avoid any Last of Us discussion at all. In a year or two you'll be able to pick up a used slim for next to nothing, as the PS4 becomes more mainstream, and even though we'll be even more used to high res graphics by then, none of that matters when you play such superbly crafted titles as this, Journey, and (so I hear) the Uncharted series.

Be patient and pick your price of entry. :-)

While I'm here... I'm now into Winter and absolutely loving it. I can't believe how much satisfaction I get from making sure I'm as well equipped as possible before moving on. It ought to be boring, but for me it's not at all.

I've also hiked the difficulty up from Easy to Normal without crying too much.

The crazy thing is I'm already contemplating playing the darned thing again on a higher setting, now I've got a bit better at using a controller. The only two games I can remember replaying this side of Doom are Fallout3 and the first Dragon Age. And the attraction there, again, was the confidence I gained from knowing how to use the character's abilities.

For me Last of Us is turning into an experience like one of those books you read and love with a passion. You want everyone else to love it too, even though you know that's not possible. :-)

Only thing really bugging me, is that the friendly AI is stupid, and you can see why they disabled enemies being able to detect them.

What? Has there been another patch since the first one? I only ask as the AI with me have been detected by Runners, Clickers and humans through my 77% of play - several sections went completely Pete Tong by one of those bozos getting spotted :(

From what Ive noticed if you are near the offending enemy that spots the friendly AI you are toast, if you arent near they kinda ignore each other. Slowest player ever at 25%!

ps3ud0

They must have detected you not the AI, the AI never ever not even once gets detected. Ive had AI physically bump into clickers and nothing happens.

Ok been playing this game flat out, not sure how far I am but Id say about 40+% through it.
This games amazing, I thought I would have spoiled this game for myself as I had watched many trailers and you tubes on this. But It hasn't.

Its been a long time since a game has really sucked me in like this, wearing head phones playing in the dark is a must lol.

The fighting and combat mechanics are spot on, sound is fantastically atmospheric and the relationship between Joel and Elli is so well written.
The acting no matter how small is some of the best I have EVER seen in any game this Gen.

It took me a while to get used to the mechanics, if I had any gripes (and this would be tiny) is the Friendly AI moving about slightly takes away from the experience, but again that’s a spec of dust of a grip and in no way a game breaker.

My fav's are the fighting and once you get used to it the shooting dose begin to feel more realistic.

Def the BEST 'Survival' game I have EVER played.

Id like to see what developer could try and top that.

Yeah I did a runner down some stairs to keep out of sight from two guys, got to the bottom and used my hearing thing. What do I see? Two guys walking down the stairs with Ellie stuck between them trying to run to me lol.

I'm not sure what else, other than a hell of a lot of work with AI they could have done.

I found the AI was really only a problem when you had more than one person with you. When it's just you and Tess or you and Ellie it was mostly okay, but it often got ridiculous when there was two. The most annoying one for me was Ellie and Bill, Bill would be running backwards and forward from cover to cover, loudest footsteps I've ever heard in my life, all while whispering at Joel to "Stay quiet".
