At the start you have no abilities and it can seem boring if you do not give it a chance. 2 hours is not enough to get understand what the game has to offer imo. First few hours i was like okay.. This does not feel like a 10 out of 10 game. But then you start getting all the abilities, discovering things and then you get hooked!

Please, it's bad enough I can't play this game and have to read all the posts in the console section of how incredible the game is. But sticking another thread in my pc section is just pure torture lol.

What makes a game great?
1 - Having one single unique aspect?

I was trying to understand why it was getting good critic scores.

Forgive me for not believing them of all people :D

A week since launch and it does seem to be that the scores are genuine but it still amazes me that Nintendo have managed to get something right inspite of their previous decade of brain *****.

Lol :)

You can always buy it on credit card. Play, complete and sell. Most you will lose is £50. Can even keep an eye on the members market, one guy was selling for cheap, could even break even after playing the game for a month.

Just make sure you do not miss out ;)

Ah, fair enough, I can understand that.

So no Vega purchase either then? :(

Oh you sneaky devil lol.

I've already factored in that purchase with my wife, I'm taking a little out from the sale of my mint '91 Escort RS Turbo, which destroyed me when it went two weeks ago.

Well said guys. It seems as a PC gamer I am not alone in thinking Zelda is better than the likes of Witcher 3 etc on PC :)

Seems that its just as well I didnt make that poll in the end LOL , I am very surprised to see so many knocking Witcher 3 for its gameplay etc, especially given how Witcher 3 has such a huge following on these forums and very often comes very highly positioned in best/favourite games ever threads. It would seem from the jist of this thread that Zelda really is better than Witcher 3. I doff my cap to it, I dont think its a game that I would ever play but there is certainly no denying that it must be of supreme quality given the comments in this thread and that can only be a good thing for its platform and franchise.

Mainly PC gamer here, got a PS4 but it just doesn't get used, hell I've still got 2 of the 5 games I bought in the wrappers! But, the switch appealed to me as I liked my 3DS but again, stopped playing it as the titles were just too outdated and the tiny thumbstick on the right side was just... Not good.

Anyway, I wanted something mobile again and at the same time, able to sit on the sofa and play. As the 3DS was only really for when I was out and about. Meaning I rarely kept up with games. I've put in more hours in the last week playing the Switch (Zelda only at the moment) than I have the PS4 over the past 6 months. Zelda is a masterpiece, it's simply amazing. I'm blown away at how it looks in terms of art style, I was playing on Friday afternoon at home and was feeling a tad lonely (misses just moved to the states) so I undocked it, put it into the carry case. Walked to my local, sat in the garden and continued playing. When I got home after a few beers, I docked it again and off I went...

I feel it's the perfect companion for a PC gamer. And if you like open worlds, you'll LOVE Zelda. However, my biggest gripe us such a small one, it's almost nothing. It's a bit too cutesy sometimes, making silly anime style character moans and groans from female NPC's is just a bit... Neckbears will love it no doubt!

Actually, after writing this, I realised I've not played a PC game since I got the Switch lol

The Witcher 3 let's you follow your little golden breadcrumb trail to your objective and then you do the thing which generally involves killing a mob (not always) and then on to the next one.

Zelda barely even has objective markers. You wake up out of a tomb and off you go.

Same here. Last I played Fifa 17, but no desire to play anything on PC when I can be playing Zelda every chance I get :)

Witcher 3 is one of, if not my most favourite game of all time. But Zelda is creeping up fast behind it! I love how there is little to no hand holding. Today I was watching part of a playthrough and there is so much I've yet to work out/discover! You have to use your noggin and initiative to make any progress in Zelda. Love it.

I'm sat on the sofa, playing in hand held mode with a beer. Window open and just chilling. I could play on the big screen but I don't fancy it :)

Was just up Asda TNA, they had switch instock but no Zelda, that saved me lol.

Also, I don't know what the rules are regarding talking about emulation as it's not piracy and not illegal, but apparently Breath Of The Wild is now running on CEMU at 4k all be it at 15fps.

Not going to link just in case but easy Google search will find it at pcgamer.

Still, I am intrigued by this Zelda game - first one ever. But there's no way I'm going to pay £350 just to play it. I know I'll soon forget about it and move on

This sums up how I feel perfectly. I feel this way about lots of console games tbh. The Uncharted series springs to mind.

Interesting, might play my 2nd playthrough with that at 4K. Will check that out :D

Still though. Nice to reward Nintendo for such master piece, and there is nothing quite like playing Zelda while taking a dump. lol :)

No need to miss out, do what I do, borrow a friends console for a while or buy one cheap second hand, play what you want and sell on when done. Hardly costs anything doing that. No need to miss out is there?

I have done that. I did it with the ps3. I had a 360, and I went years really wanting to play metal gear solid 4, but never bought one. Then when GTA V came out, I finally got one and played metal gear, gta, Last of Us and Demon Souls.
I have come incredibly close to getting a PS4 recently as I really want to play Bloodborne(and thats about it tbh), but haven't pulled the trigger yet(plus atm it isn't really feasible for me).

Atm, ps4 would take priority if I did get a console. It would be great if you could just pop down a shop and hire a console!
