The Liverpool Club Thread. **No Spoilers**

Klopp has signed a new deal until 2024.

The way he had previously spoken I genuinely thought he would leave when his current deal expired.

Wasn't sure about him when he first joined but every complaint I've ever had about him have been firmly shoved down my throat so I'm absolutely made up with the extension :)

And just the other day Gerrard signed a contract extension until 2024 with Rangers.....an alignment for a handover or mere coincidence !

The best signing we've made or could make, fantastic news!

When he didn't sign a new deal directly after the CL win, when the club were keen for him to do so, I did start to wonder whether he might be eyeing up a sabbatical in a couple of years time.

Yea, it'sa coincidence. Unless he proves himself to be an elite manager then FSG won't go near Gerrard. He'd be too powerful and if things didn't go well it would be the board that took the blame for it.

Coincidence or not I think it's a given Gerrard will manage us just a case of when, I'll always be skeptical about him managing us as I wouldn't want him to have a bad spell with us and it just goes wrong.

Gerrard will only manage us if he's the right manager for us. FSG don't make emotional decisions and are not going to appoint Gerrard out of sentiment.

On the previous page I mention an interview with one of our analyst's and in that they don't just discuss how the club use stats and data to scout players but how they used it when targeting Klopp too.

This might make Klopp rethink the high line now. Gomez and Trent had the pace to try and recover, whoever comes in for them won't.

Leicester and Spurs at home will be tough games, as will Palace away, but our fixtures between now and January are relatively easy compared to our start.

Phillips and Williams will get more game time to prove themselves but Klopp might be forced to spend big now. Might even see BTK get more game time.

Alaba should be available for a reasonable fee in Jan.
