The Liverpool Club Thread. **No Spoilers**

Slot supposed to be having his pre-match conference for City today, instead of Friday as usual. Last time it was moved in that way, Klopp announced his departure on the Friday. People drawing parallels in that one or more contract renewals might be announced on the Friday but it is speculation. Given Mo's comments recently and Trent's general silence, it seems as though a renewal for Van Dijk would be the most likely outcome, if anything is to happen at all.

Assuming Ibou and Bradley are out for December then it'll be a tricky balancing act at the back for us, particularly these next few games. Had Trent not been coming off the back of a hamstring injury then I'd imagine Gomez just slots in at CB and you try to get through the next week like that but I can't imagine Trent starting 3 times in 6 days so we're probably looking at a bit more rotation.

If we can get through next week unscathed then there's some opportunities to rest and rotate vs Girona & Southampton in the League Cup. I wouldn't be too surprised if we see Endo play CB in one of those.

Trouble is once you make one exception others will want the same and you can't afford a squad that it loaded with players in the in mid 30's raking in op wages, it makes it hard to refresh the squad and impossible to move them on if performances drop off. The board have some tricky decisions to make but I agree keeping Mo should be the clubs number one priority.

He’s not a normal player though, he’s the exception as I said. This guy is unreal. We are now moving into the territory where theres a legit case he’s the best player in the world.

Hes single handedly keeping Liverpool at the top this season. As posted in the match day thread, I think hes been responsible for 72% of Liverpools goals in the league via scoring them (13) or assisting them (8) and I can think of quite a few occasions this season where he has literally put it on a plate for his strikers. They haven't exactly been "he made the pass just before the goal" they have been "he made the goal almost entirely".

Hard to see how Liverpool could let him leave at the end of the year. He has them over a barrel at the moment.

The trouble is AFCON next year pretty much wipes out December and January, plus it's killed him before for the rest of the season. It doesn't matter how good he is if you know you're at best only going to get it for half a season, and then he's 34

Seeing reports that Salah will be signing a 2 year contract, dunno how valid they are mind you. Think Salah and VVD will be staying and Trent is gone imo.

Chiesa hasn't travelled with the cl squad looks like he's picked up another knock despite turning out for the u23's the other night. Who would have though signing a injury plagued player would turn out like this eh, well all of us apart from the TAW lot

The difference in reactions between the tele clapping foreign/internet fans and the actual scouse fanbase is hilarious.

Tele clappers getting wet over the idea of musk as owner whilst the locals fume at the idea.

Be surprised if it happened though, musk said only a year ago that if he bought a club it would be Manchester United as he used to support them as a child (probs another lie tbh)
