Why is Rashford seemingly undroppable?

I think it's just lack of options. He obviously wants to limit pressure on Amad/Garnacho, so rotating them and using Rashford gives them the development without burning them out and heaping the pressure of United onto their shoulders.

I'm not entirely sure where Antony is. Not that he's great, but not seen anything of him.

Next 5 league games, be honest - feel confident about any of them?

Southampton
Palace
Spurs
Villa
Brentford

5 points I think.

Edit - top trumps for the title change.

Edit - 3 games down, 4 points.

You just dont at the moment that the problem you could see Liverpool loss coming after Brighton game.

Only game I see us getting 3 points is Southampton right now.

A Rashford on form could be 15-20 goals a season. He's clearly shot on confidence and ten Hag has judged that dropping him is not the best way to restore confidence. With an out and out striker the manager would be hoping that one goes in off his arse but Rashford doesn't get in the places to score that sort of goal. I'm guessing that its a calculation that if you keep showing faith in the lad it will eventually lead to a breakthrough. The only defence we can make for Marcus is that he clearly misses Luke Shaw or another decent left back.

He worked a bit harder in the last couple of games and that's the minimum requirement. At times last season he couldn't even do that but I don't believe he want's anything other than to play well and help the team win. However, mentally he is struggling with the pressure and that's a bit sad to witness.

I think that's too pessimistic. Provided we don't pick up more injuries in the international break I can see us winning three of those matches. Despite the results there are some signs of improvement but we have to get Casemiro to eliminate the errors we've seen from him. Rasmus will be back hopefully, players will get fitter and sharper. I might be delusional and if I am ten Hag will be on notice.

I'm going with 10. I think we'll beat Southampton and Palace, draw with Spurs, lose to Villa, then beat Brentford.

he simply has to win at Southampton, in any way possible, this may turn very ugly very quickly.
Southampton will gift them the win no need to worry about that, we will tippy tappy the ball about in our own area for 90 minutes and cough it up three or four times giving you chances on a plate.

In hindsight was it short-sighted to sell Garner? He starts for Everton and Spurs were sniffing around him during the summer. Not to mention the lack of CDMs at the club...
