US: The Mandalorian

The whole Mando with no helmet came about because of the Predo kicking up not wanting to wear it all the time.

We got the Book of Cubby Fett because Predro was granted time away to film the Last Of Us. It felt like two completely shows stiched together.

Couple of points here, Pedro is fine with the helmet on. Apart from some weird YouTubers I've never seen a verified source on this. Which also feeds into why Pedro is happy with this is because he can go do other stuff it's not him under the helmet a lot of the time. He does the voice it's a great gig for him

Yes 100% a rumour but I can see any actor pushing to have their face seen in one of the hottest TV shows going at the time.

Who wouldn't?

He does say he can't see out of it though :D

Is that true?

Book of Boba fett was filmed from Nov 2020 and filming completed in June 2021, before The Last of Us started filming.
Probably remembering wrong.

Been a few years since the stories came out.

I know the helmet caused fiction.

I believe it was season 3 that was delayed (twice)

Maybe it was Covid that we got a miss mash of Boba Fett / Mando

Actually there is an interview where he says its like being blind as the visor fogs up very quickly and it has almost no peripheral vision.

"When [the armor and helmet is] on, you immediately feel powerful, protected, dangerous, and like a protector... It's like putting on a head-to-toe glove with weights on it. It's ironic that you can't see any facial expression because it puts you in the world so completely, and instantly makes the character feel real - but you can't see s***! They've continued to finesse and make it more comfortable, but it's like going blind. Your breath completely fogs up the narrow slit that you can see through. There's no peripheral vision. If there's a hole, I'm gonna fall into it."

The lack of a meaningful story arc is really hurting this series - it seems as though they don’t know what to do with it. Pure filler, this most recent episode. Very jarring set against the previous one.

The Mandos seem like a bunch of LARPers :p

Seriously, they're so embarrassing given how cool they'd been portrayed for the most part.

I'm starting to think they should have renamed this series to "The Mandolorians" this season.

Or maybe the titular Mandolorian isn't Din Djarin any more? The moniker seems to better fit Bo Katan.

I'm not really complaining. I'm still enjoying watching it. But Season 3 is a far cry from where this show started. It's gone from a fun "Space Western" to the launchpad for the future of Star Wars. Cameo of the Week: Carson Teva. Maybe they can spin off a show where he and a team of X-Wing pilots (maybe Zeb could be one of them?) police the planets of the Outer Rim and slowly uncover an Empire plot?

"Rangers of the new republic" - cancelled because of cara dune actress embarrassing Disney on twitter with her nonsense
apparently elements of it folded into other things like mandoman

It is content though. You don't need a story to fill gaps in a schedule or mroe accurately these days to provide streaming hours, in fact having a story arc just makes more work and it counter-productive, and therefore makes it more difficult to fulfill its brief of providing streaming hours.

If you make a walking simulator with fetch quests and some fan service thrown in then you have the perfect open-ended content generator, like buying a massive box of cornflakes instead of a small one, you don't need need to walk to the shops to buy more cornflakes.

Hmm - is Mandalorian also the plural? A bit like ‘The Borg’.

^Not sure, but I agree with your sentiment and it feels like it’s less ‘one man and his journey’ now. Even if Din has by far away the coolest armour :p

It’s an easy watch so will probably finish out the series but ‘watchable’ is extent of my enthusiasm.

1 trillion people in coruscant. But everything seems to happen around that last piece of mountain poking out through the floor...

Andor has stolen a chunk of the nostalgic charm from this show.
