Lol dmpoole, I have a DE89L sitting round in the Post Office, after seeing your pics I'm not so keen to go and get it.

Thought I'd jump on the DE bandwagon a few days back and got a brush, DE razor, some soap and blades. Will see how it goes, can always pass it on if it's too much hassle or I'm not enjoying it.

just ordered the following

Starter Kit - Soap

Black badger - Tortoise
Edwin Jagger sandalwood
Astra Superior Platinum (10x)
Edwin Jagger DE87 - Ivory

Styptic Pencil

for the tidy sum of 45 quid. fingers crossed i dont slice my face to pieces.....

wow it arrived today and what a shave!! the nicest, closest shave i have ever had! well worth the money!

Jesus christ dmpoole, what did you use, a machete? :D

Nice one Rexehuk, I just got mine in the post today too.

Have you used it yet?

Was that from Traditional Shaving? I want to get the DE89L and that kit looks great but they don't have one in stock, only that Ivory DE87.

Nope. I'm scared of it now that I've seem poole mutilate his face :p. I should be ok though... never cut myself shaving since I was like 16 when I was using gilletes etc.

My biggest fear for some unknown reason is doing my throat with it.

I see you got the brush and cream, looks like a nice little set, how much did it set you back? I'm just going to use bog standard supermarket stuff for now.

The brush & stand was £21, and the cream was £7. I really wasn't expecting the cream to be such a big tub. I don't think I'll need a new one for many months.

Well I used mine earlier today, and up until now the only thing I have ever used is a cruddy electric shaver, so it's all been a new experience for me. I managed to do a three pass shave without any cuts, so if you're careful, and stay off the tredmill whilst you do it you should be fine like you say.

It was a really enjoyable experience, I love it. :)

The the DE89L is a big web retailer for just under £20 inc. shipping. Got mine from there and then a brush and soap via the marketplace. Ordered Wednesday evening and have brush while the razor is in Post Office and other things haven't arrived yet.

Edit: Removed competitor just in case but since OcUK don't do shaving products I assumed it wasn't a problem (clarification?). Anyway, it's a huge retailer where you can get pretty much everything.

^^Competitor mate, I'd remove if I was you^^

Can anyone recommend a good case for my razor?

The only ones I can find are either really bad, or well over £100...

I don't know where to keep it

Make a little box from it? Not the hardest wooden object to make ^^
