I've had no issues with V72.. and so have lots of others.. (including my son who also has a Q3) ... I guess it's the Meta borkdate lottery..

When V72 rolled out, but the rollout is fairly random.
Quest 3 owners etc
Mines updated to V71 but the UI hasnt changed yet!, no new menu layout I haven't updated in a while. Cheers

Mine update to v72 yesterday and is working fine.
Meta Quest 2 stuck in update loop, tried manual factory reset, now it's unresponsive
Hadn't used our headset for a few months, worked fine when I turned it on but saw there was an available update. When I updated, it just kept giving us that green bar across the bottom, ending on the Meta blue logo spinning for a few minutes, then it would go dark. I did a manual factory reset...
Performed factory reset -> updating the software -> it powered off then can't turn it on.

Update killed my Oculus Quest 2 headset
I’ve not used Oculus much, it’s 2 years old, barely used and in mint condition. I switched it on and it said I need to update so I did but frustratingly it’s totally killed it! I can’t even switch it on! Does anyone know what can I do?

A Quest 2 is one thing, an expensive Quest Pro and the Pro controllers is something else...

at a 1000 i dont disagree. tbh it sounds like they ballsed the update rather badly if this amount of issues to be reported. unless its related to some mod installed preventing upgrade correctly. i.e. quest optimiser (not saying it is, just example)
Latest update to the mobile app renders the original Quest unsetupable, as the safety video stalls and doesn't allow any further setup process.

got my son a quest 2 last Xmas and it’s always had connection issues every other week, tbh I don’t think there software for updates and fixes are any good
Had to do plenty restarts of it or factory resets

Either way, it's not click onable. bit of a shame as it had all the failure posts in one place and meta could've got the message out to all those that were keeping an eye on it. Some of the posters had contacted Gamers Nexus about it.

Yep it was a bad idea. The meta forum was carnage on Christmas day. It was just as bad on reddit.
